Quiet Cottage With Large Garden near Coast

Weavers Cottage was originally converted from a 17th century weaving barn in Victorian times. It has tiled floors, exposed beams and can sleep 5. Ours is the end cottage in a row of four with off road parking at the bottom of the garden. A newly installed kitchen and wifi brings the cottage into the modern age while still retaining its history and original features. The stairs are steep with a door at the bottom and a child gate at the top. This is a chance to step back in time to a simpler way of life with an open fire and beautiful rural countryside. A perfect chance to read a book, teach the kids to play cards and talk.
The garden is great for children and birdwatchers alike, away from roads and bordering on to open fields. An ideal base for traditional bucket and spade family holiday but also a comfortable fit for a couple or small group of friends. Dogs are welcome.
We are well placed for North Norfolk's coast, walking paths & birdwatching or just relaxing in the quiet countryside. Our own Thursford Collection is a walk away & Walsingham, our neighbouring village, is seeped in history and shrines. Norwich and Kings Lynn are both under an hour away. Suitable for 2-5 people.

Ground Floor:
(Front door opens into) Boot Room with plenty of room for beach gear, wellies etc. There is a new washing machine & separate new drier.
Kitchen with electric hob & oven, microwave, fridge and large walk in larder. The original open fire heated bread oven and copper are set aside the chimney breast.
Sitting Room/Dining Room has an open fire, comfortable seating, TV & wifi and a chest of drawers with board games. The table will seat 6 adults / children. A french door opens out to the ‘breakfast garden’ and views across fields to Thursford Church.

First Floor:
(All rooms have exposed beams.) Master Bedroom has a double bed. The single bedroom has a new bed & plenty of hanging space. A steep staircase (with stair gate) opens into Landing Room with double bed. The Bathroom is simple with a bath, washbasin and w.c

Garden:
The gated entrance can accommodate parking for 2 cars.

The large garden is enclosed and mainly lawn. The whole garden borders onto open fields. There is a picnic table on a leveled area for outdoor eating and the separate front garden has bistro garden furniture to enjoy the morning sunrise. The garden and surrounding area are ideal for children, cycling and dog walking.

Included in the price:
Bed linen, duvets & towels are provided. Electricity with storage heaters. Wifi. Cleaning. You're welcome to use our music collection, books & games.

Well behaved pets welcome. No smoking in the cottage.

Lovely place
This cottage is clearly used by the owner which means it is very well stocked with everything you could need for a long weekend. The house is very easy with young children as there is a high chair, plastic crockery and a great safe garden to play. We will be coming again.

Quaint cottage
We had lovely midweek break in Weaver's cottage. The spacious garden was perfect for our dog and there is also a small enclosed courtyard. The stairs are steep but in keeping with the cottage. Good local walks around the village and the coast is not far away.

Great Location and Cottage.
This was an ideal base for our visit to North Norfolk. Our greyhound - Blakey loved the garden, there was so much space for him to run. There was only the 2 of us but there is plenty of space and a very well equipped kitchen for all that you'd need. The Steam Gala was on the weekend we were there so we managed to see vintage engines and fairground rides in action. We loved Holkam beach for the dog walking - also a great visitors centre with Bird watching books to look through. Holt is great for the mix of shops and antiques - go v.early or later in day if you want to park! Would recommend the cottage as a great escape, especially form London!

Fabulous hideaway
This is a lovely property which feels like a little hideaway from the world. I visited at the end of August with two teen girls and a dog and we all had a lovely time. The kitchen has everything required for self catering and we were very thoughtfully provided with milk and there was tea and coffee readily available although we had brought our own. There’s a lovely short circular walk for the dog that takes you through a bit of wood and past the church and it was a good base to explore some of the Norfolk coast. We were only there for a short time but would definitely recommend it.

Country cottage charm
A lovely small but cosy country cottage which has retained its traditional charm whilst benefitting from a number of welcome but unobtrusive modernisations. Peaceful and pretty setting, with garden and patio. Nearby dog walks - and the riches of north Norfolk on your doorstep. Be mindful of the steep and narrow stairway, and the fact that the bed on the landing is literally that (meaning the two other bedrooms access the bathroom via it). No shower, but a hose attachment - and no shaver plug in the bathroom. None of this was a problem for us - my wife and I, our two grown up children, and our two dogs all had a wonderful time and hope to return in the future (perhaps for a winter visit so as to enjoy the coal burning stove!). So much to enjoy in the vicinity - but we'd particularly recommend the Blue Bell in Langham (relaxed real pub with unfussy but imaginative and beautifully prepared food), and the nearby Binham Priory ruins (with adjacent dairy parlour cafe serving scrummy cakes, and a variety of local cheeses such as Binham Blue, Baron Bigod, and Smoked Norfolk Dapple). The Thursford Collection is literally opposite the village green on which the cottage sits.

Quiet, Remote, Peaceful, & Tranquil
We chose Weaver’s Cottage to be the base for our Family Holiday to Norfolk this year. It was perfect, set in beautiful countryside, and very homely. Close enough to Fakenham for all the amenities within a 10 min drive and yet remote and peaceful. We loved Wells-next-the-Sea and explored the Norfolk broads easily from this location. Highly recommended.

A stay at Weaver’s Cottage was just what we had hoped!
We had a lovely Norfolk holiday and hugely enjoyed staying at Weaver’s Cottage. It was perfect for our family as it provided the quiet, rural getaway we had been looking for. Our arrival instructions and local tips from Julia were perfect, and the cottage was perfectly clean and welcoming. The new kitchen was ideal for us enjoying a self-catered holiday as a family. We particularly loved the large garden and how peaceful the area is. It’s also positioned perfectly to enjoy lots of the north Norfolk coast - definitely recommend to others looking for a quiet stay in the Norfolk countryside.

Our Norfolk break
We thoroughly enjoyed this peaceful, tucked away cottage. It was well equipped, and our only concern was the top bunk mattress that sagged in the middle, and thus was not too comfy. Overall - brilliant break. We had to rearrange our dates, and much appreciated the owner’s rapid response, flexibility and understanding. Thanks from us.

Charming rural cottage
This is a small cottage, tucked away in Thursford Green off the A148 between Fakenham and Holt. There's with lots of character in the cottage with exposed beams and the old bread oven in the kitchen, though I should say that the kitchen is newly refurbished and is well equipped. We really enjoyed our short stay here.

Lovely for a short stay.
Cute little cottage, we enjoyed our stay. Ideal location for some of the nicest Norfolk beaches. The only slight negative for us with the cottage is the garden. There are unfortunately two small openings that my dogs found and one led out to the road.
