This was our second stay at St Michael’s and we did have a lovely stay again. The facilities are very good, we particularly enjoyed the hydrothermal experience and the health club. The location is a huge bonus for us as we enjoy being able to walk into Falmouth.
Breakfast was good but you do have to pay extra for certain things including lattes. This is a bit unusual; I stayed in a Premier Inn Hub last week which had freely available coffee machines for all guests!
The hydrotherapy experience was really enjoyable, it has a great range of different steam rooms and saunas to try as well as a large pool. The plunge pool was out of action.
The gym is enormous and really well equipped! I did find the cleanliness a bit lacking, there is blue roll and spray around to wipe down equipment but I only saw one other person doing it while I was there.
We booked a cosy room which was in the main building. The size was fine, more than ample for us. You can hear the other rooms, toilets flushing and people moving around etc. What does let the whole place down is the finish in the rooms, the paint work is chipped and repairs were fairly poorly done around the bath. The ceiling in the hallway outside the room looked like it had suffered a leak at some point as the paint had been partly stripped.
We would stay again for the location and facilities but it’s not quite up to the standard it could be in terms of finish.
