"The provided facilities, in terms of the fridge shack etc could do with updating and the site is a lot smaller than anticipated so we were greatful of only one other pod being occupied. Had there have been others there, there wouldn’t have been much privacy at all. Coat hooks being on the same wall as the plugs/shelf etc meant coats hanging over the kettle , but the pod itself was lovely and clean, amazingly comfortable bed. "We booked two barns to celebrate New Year and my retirement with family. It was a really large space for us all. We had a great stay. Only downside was the barns need a bit of updating. Otherwise perfect for us all."

"We were in Bedale to attend the Middleham Open Day. It was a perfect base for us.The cottage was absolutely perfect. A real home from home. There was everything you would need for a weekend stay or even longer. We enjoyed a lovely walk along the river out the back. Would definitely recommend and hope we will be back one day. "

"Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space."

"The property is just as described, with everything you might want deftly included in a small and chic space. Really handy for town - as long as you don't mind a hill! - and for the river. We were in town in less than 10 minutes and at riverside cafes in even less time. The location is quiet, and the balcony provided a lovely additional space when the sun shone."

"Excellent stay. I have been to many places and stayed in many hotels but this hotel has perhaps the best bed! Super clean rooms. The only reason I didnt give five stars for facilities is that they do not have a hair dryer and the water pressure of the shower wasn't great. The staff did look into it and I didnt expect it to be an immediate fix so in the bigger picture, that was a trivial problem; it doesn't take away from how brilliant the establishment is."

"This is a wonderful property and unusual for a hotel with a spa. It is located in the market town of Helmsley which offers a great selection of places to wander to. The hotel has a range of rooms - this time we stayed in a spa suite and couldn’t fault it. A large entrance into a separate living area, a huge bedroom and bathroom with fabulous bath tub and separate shower. Breakfast was delicious with a range of options. The spa is included in the price too, which is another reason to visit this hotel. The outdoor swimming pool was heated to a perfect temperature which enabled us to spend time outdoors on both a cloudy, chilly day and one with wonderful sunshine. There are 4 heated experiences - I loved the salt steam room. The quirky lounge is another hit- instead of loungers there are a range of huge chairs and sofas with blankets - perfect for a chill and/ or an accidental doze! Love this place and can’t wait to come back."
