Take a walk around the delightful gardens of this charming park and then explore a vibrant waterfront area of colorful houseboats, cafés and restaurants.

Find a few moments of peace and quiet in Fisherman's Wharf Park. This small and attractive retreat features a playground, sandy beach and plaza.

Stroll along pathways that lead to the herb garden and the sunken contemplative garden. Walk over the bridge that crosses the rain garden which lays claim to being the largest rain garden in Victoria. It’s designed to manage storm water runoff. Pause to look at the plants that can survive excessive amounts of water during the winter and prolonged dry periods in the summer. Among its other features is a seawall that outlines the original shoreline of Victoria’s Inner Harbour. This garden can also be viewed from a seated stairway and the nearby plaza.

If there are young children with you let them burn off some energy in the playground and sandy beach area.

Leave the park via the stone stairs that lead to Fisherman's Wharf. This is a lively waterfront destination of shops, restaurants, fishing vessels and houseboats.

Wander along the decks to look at the colorful houseboats moored on the wharf. Purchase lunch from a restaurant, café or snack kiosk and watch the activity on the water. Fisherman’s Wharf is located in a working harbor where fishing vessels arrive to unload their catches. If you’re looking for something to prepare for your evening meal, purchase fresh fish direct from one of the boats.

Try to spot wildlife such as seals, otters, eagles and various types of seabirds that are occasional visitors to the area. For more wildlife experiences book a whale-watching tour from one of the operators based at the wharf. You can also rent sea kayaks from here.

There are several ways to get to Fisherman's Wharf and Fisherman's Wharf Park. Take a 10-minute picturesque walk from the Inner Harbour or travel by the Victoria Harbour Ferry from any of the harbor's pick-up spots. You can also come by bus. If you prefer to drive, there is parking for a fee in the area. Cyclists will find a few bicycle racks at the wharf.
