"This was my 3rd time staying at Craiglynne hotel and yes it is old and creaky, but the beds are clean and comfy, the staff are so friendly and helpful and the grounds are beautiful. For a relaxing peaceful getaway without spending a fortune, this hotel is perfect. "

"We had a great stay for 3 nights, the staff are excellent very friendly and know their stuff. The camaraderie in the bar with the Staff and other guests was lovely, all sharing their day. Wide selection of whiskies and spirits. The food was excellent, even if you decide not to stay, go there and eat. For us the best food in Grantown, along with freshly cooked breakfasts, the Venison Pie and mussels were beautiful. Thank you Mark and Lucy and all your staff,great stay, thank you. "

"Booked this stay for its Castle description for a special celebration. Everyone on the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Some may call this place ‘dated’ but imo it was elegant in a hunters lodge/castle-y way. Beautiful bathroom, large room and comfortable bed. Nicely appointed with 2 desks and club chairs and table with view of the grounds. Petted ponies and saw bunnies. Great food. Thank you Chef for the sweet treats! Thank you Joy for the nice room assignment. Thank you to Salil and Alison and to those that we didn’t know your names. What fun!"

"Top service received from all staff we dealt with. Reviews were very mixed so we were wary … but we had a great 2 night break here. Nice buffet style breakfast too. "

"Run by a lovely family. This hotel is right on the John o’Groats trail (and in the centre of Tain) and provided a very comfortable nights stay after a long days walk. I noticed it also provides /thinks of the details that not all hotels (along the trail) do…. Bottled water, big pack of shortbread, giant tv (not the tiny wee ones you often get on the wall), alarm clock, in shower mat…."

"If we hadn’t already booked we probably would have kept on driving. Out side area so untidy and not well kept. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Stairs very steep - no good for anyone that has problems with mobility. Food was good. Probably wouldn’t book again. "
