Enjoyed century old style

We enjoyed this rustic place with mostly a self-service operation. Not your typical commodity hotel! Beds were comfortable, bathroom clean, good hot water. Creaky wooden floors make the ambiance! Gathering room with a good assortment of vinyl disc for all tastes and ages. Good for socializing with other guests! Authentic if not old fashion facilities make this an interesting place.

Loved our rooms (Hummingbird and Rancher) so much we stayed another night. Very comfortable, plenty hot water, room temp easy to control. Couple good places to eat nearby, limited hours tho. If there’s any constructive criticism, would have been helpful to get a reply from host via text, email, or ph call. We’re already planning a second trip.

This was a perfect spot for us. We walked to dinner and breakfast; was close to the McDonald Observatory, and had so much charm. It would also be great for a family. There was a fun game area that, if we’d had more time, would have been good entertainment. Don’t hesitate to book here.

Upon our arrival we were expecting the soda fountain and restaurant to be open. Apparently, the hotel is for sale. This left us with few eating options. Somewhat disappointed.

Loved this place, very quaint. Very clean with plenty towels and sundries. The restaurant is closed but there’s a pool table, ping pong and foosball table downstairs. Rooms are upstairs, cool seating area there too. Even the squeaky wood floors added to the ambiance. Microwaves and coffee pots available. Each room had its own AC/heat unit. The only thing that could improve is communication with the owner/manager. We wanted to stay another night and weren’t able to reach anyone.
