Not as close to town as listed
I have to say that whilst we enjoyed our stay I did find the property listing somewhat misleading with regard to the distance the property is in relation to the town and beaches etc. We are both fairly active people but could not have walked into town, I am sure it would have taken us about half an hour especially in the heat and I certainly would not have wanted to walk along the road to town at night. Luckily a local person gave us information about using the local buses and we were able to use them to get to the town and Pinney's beach.
Although it is possible to walk to Rams and Value Mart it would not be easy when you are carrying a lot of shopping. The property Manager did offer to stop at the supermarket when we where met at the ferry but we declined thinking we would do it later. Had it been explained to us beforehand that it is not advisable to drink the water we would have taken her up on the offer as carrying 5 litres of water up the hill would not have been easy.
The listing also says ''Walk to delicious restaurants and unique shops after spending the day under the sun''. We had difficulty finding a restaurant open for food after 4pm apart from the 2 Chinese. We asked several local people who didn't know of anywhere and it was only because we asked at the restaurant upstairs by the ferry terminal (think it was called Blessings) if they had something other than a snack that we found something to eat. Very helpful lady gave us the choice of a proper meal of grouper or ribs. Both were very nice. They didn't usually do late afternoon evening meals, they were going to start doing them on the Monday after we left.
Once we got the hang of things we made the most of our stay and did get out and about but I feel that you really need a car to stay at this property.
Can I also make a suggestion that as there is a washing machine that there is also an iron and ironing board, also a hairdryer.
The property is OK but needs a bit of TLC. The upstairs balcony is probably it's best point.
