About a holiday in Polruan...
Polruan is an ancient mariner and shipbuilding community. Clinging to the hillside and surrounded on three sides by water, the village is a maze of narrow streets and flights of steps winding between the cottages, it is much loved as a community, a haven for yachts and also a tranquil holiday destination. Down at the harbour you will find 2 pubs, both serving great food throughout the day. There are 2 beaches, ideal for paddle boarding and a great passenger ferry services that runs throughout the day across to Fowey. The Ferry runs a daily service, finishing at 11pm during the summer and 7pm during the winter. Fowey is full of shops, eateries, pubs, beach and a harbour. It is well worth a visit and day well spent exploring all it has to offer.
There are many beautiful walks, coast paths, beaches and coves to explore including the stunning Atlantic Bay and Readymoney beach, both with parking. For walkers, the South West Coastal Footpath is just yards from the cottage and the Hall Walk is highly recommended, starting in Polruan by the Harbour and ending in Fowey overlooking the beautiful Fowey estuary. Or take the challenging but spectacular walk to Polperro, passing some of our more remote but beautiful beaches.
