June 2024 stay.
This hotel was OK at best. The front desk is not staffed from 11 pm to 7 am, so you cannot check in or out during that time. Much of the staff seemed to look at customers as a bother. Breakfast was poorly supplied. i.e. eggs ran out quickly and were not replenished any time soon thereafter. Rooms were reasonably comfortable.

A Gem in the Black Forest
Very nice hotel in the Black Forest. We had a balcony, which was nice since it was raining. We could still sit outside. Excellent breakfast. Nice indoor and outdoor pools, but the weather wasn't swimming weather when we were there so we couldn't try it.

This is a very nice location and quite well run but could use some heavy duty maintenance. I would stay again but could not recommend to discerning travelers.

A brilliant place to rest.
Had a very warmth reception, they went further mile to accommodate my dietary need.Beautiful spa space and generally very very clean. I had a very restful stay.

Nice pool area
Lovely pool area inside and outside in beautiful grounds. Plenty sun loungers and friendly staff. I was very disappointed with the quality of the evening meals, however the breakfast buffet was very good. The rooms were clean with comfy beds, albeit a little outdated. Free parking is off street only. There are a few parking spaces within the grounds which you can reserve for €4 a night.

Lovely hotel (if not a bit dated) our room was spacious with a balcony and nice view. The hotel has a pool and a nice steam and sauna area. The location is a bit out of town but is still walkable overall.

Comfortable in a nice location, great view from 2nd floor balcony over the valley, spacious room with good facilities, shame there was no coffee or tea making equipment provided. No water in the outdoor pool, breakfast typical continental selection of breads, cerials and meats. Nice friendly staff.

Mixed feelings
We liked the hotel where it was located; a short walk from the town centre. The lay-out of the hotel gave it a neat character and added some charm. However, due to the fact that there is no air conditioning in the hotel, we had to open our window and door to the balcony, and quite often the noise from other visitors talking late at night outside, eating breakfast (starting at 7), or smoking on the balcony next to us, made us appreciate our stay less. The beds were very comfortable, but the covers on the beds were too warm for this season. I would have prefered a bed sheet, or very light blanket as a choice. The staff was polite and tried to do their jobs in a quiet manner without getting in the way of their guests during the breakfast buffet. The breakfast had a good selection and was well prepared. I still enjoyed my stay in general.

Super outdated hotel; straight out of the 1950s
Very strange local area (very residential?). The "resort" looks like it's straight out of a 1950s horror flick. Beds were uncomfortable. No A/C. Breakfast was really disappointing. The pool was OK, but no towels are provided. Would avoid Freudenstadt all together.

NOISE NOISE NOISE
I could not sleep because of the noise from midnight to around 2:00 am. It sounded as if they were remodeling rooms because of all the crashing and banging. There was no one at the reception desk to stop the racket, but the next morning I was told that my room was above the kitchen and the staff was cleaning up until around 1:30. And then the weed whackers started early in the morning. If a good nights sleep is important to you, then avoid this hotel.

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung. Personal hat sich bemüht. Essen und Frühstück war sehr gut. Die Zimmer sauber, man sieht, dass immer wieder renoviert wird. Man kann sagen, es war in Ordnung.
