In the heart of Somerset's most stunning countryside, The Loft is a light, bright spacious self-contained apartment at the far edge of Laurel Barn, an architect-designed house in the popular village of Mells.
With its own front door you climb the stairs to a large light space with everything you need for the perfect countryside retreat. Parking, Superfast wi-fi and fully equipped dining/living/bedroom area & ensuite bathroom with rainfall shower. This is 'loft' living at its best. Pets welcome.

With its own front door you climb the stairs to a large light self contained studio space with everything you need for the perfect countryside retreat.

We have a fully equipped kitchen with sink, hob, single electric oven with grill, toaster, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment, cutlery, crockery and storage. Kitchen basics are also included so you don't have to worry, plus a cleaning kit & supplies for that first cup of tea or coffee.

Next to the kitchen is a wooden table and seating for four people, perfect for eating, working or just relaxing with a coffee. We have a brand new King size bed with memory foam mattress, a bedside table alongside, hanging space plus chest of drawers with lots of storage. This is where you will find the hair drier & ironing board & iron for guest use.

Off the larger living & sleeping space is a newly fitted en-suite bathroom with rainfall shower, wash basin and WC. Shampoo, shower gel & hand soap included.

Our eco-friendly, cosy space is warmed by underfloor heating and has superfast fibre wi-fi. We also provide all bed linen & towels and welcome up to two well behaved dogs.

You can enjoy the beautiful countryside with morning coffee on our outdoor cafe style table & chairs or take some comfy reclining sun loungers over to the 'Loft lawn'.

We are dog and child friendly, but only have a King Size bed that sleeps 2 guests, plus an infant using a travel cot. However, if you have smaller toddlers or children please get in touch as we might be able to help accommodate additional guests.

Whether you’re looking to get away from it all & unplug or totally immerse yourself in everything this area has to offer, The Loft will give you a great base from which to explore.

Beautiful apartment in lovely village
Lovely well equipped apartment. Very clean and sylish. Parking and location excellent. Local pub within walking distance excellent. Great community cafe and wonderful walled garden cafe also. Highly recommend.

Spacious well-appointed loft in rural idyllic setting
In a village short of holiday accommodation this is a welcome find for anyone keen to enjoy the delights of Mells and the surrounding area. The studio flat works well and is near enough to the village that the car can be dispensed with for a few days of simplicity. Little touches by the host make it feel very welcoming, and the loft is perfectly well appointed. The Talbot Inn (Weds-Sun) and Walled Garden (daily to 5pm) offer local possibilities for eating out.

Huge space, spotlessly clean & comfortable with really fast WiFi. Mells is a beautiful village with a great pub 10 mins walk from the Loft. Easy to get to Frome, Bath etc. Would definitely return.

I would highly recommend staying here! We came for a short weekend away and it was perfect. Lisa went above and beyond for us when trying to organise the trip as well as being so welcoming while we were there. The place is gorgeous and has everything you need. The Loft
We had a wonderful peaceful stay here. The property is clean, attractive and very well equipped. Lisa was very responsive to questions and on hand without being at all intrusive. The area is beautiful, with amazing walks from the apartment. The pub in the village serves lovely food, served by attentive staff. Nearby Frome is lovely too, with lots of independent shops and reataurants. We were so close to Bath yet we had no desire to go, the countryside and surrounding area was too attractive. The only thing that would have made our stay totally perfect was a bigger bed, but that’s just personal preference. Thank you, we would love to stay again in the future.

Fantastic property & location
Recently stayed at The Loft for a week while attending a course with my dog. The Loft was spotlessly clean, is very spacious and has everything you need. The mobile signal was very poor but free wifi is available and the property manager was very responsive to emails and extremely accommodating to my late return at nights due to a change of times on my course. I highly recommend this property and hope to return quite soon to explore the area some more.
