Discover the history of Monterrey, explore picturesque gardens, enjoy recreational activities and attend cultural events at this multi-purpose park.

Monterrey’s Fundidora Park is a spectacular urban space that combines history with recreational and cultural activities. Visit museums and galleries, watch live music performances, relax in pristine gardens and participate in boundless outdoor pursuits. Fundidora Park spreads across 351 acres (142 hectares) and offers an abundance of year-round entertainment for visitors of all ages.

A highlight of the park is its celebration of Monterrey’s industrial heritage. Spot blast furnaces, chimneys and other machinery set around the gardens. Learn about the city’s industrial past via the interactive exhibits of the Museo del Acero Horno 3 (Horno 3 Museum of Steel). Admire expositions of national and international art at the Centro de las Artes and Nave Generadores gallery. See lifelike wax models of famous celebrities at the Museo de Cera Monterrey.

Walk, bike or skate along Acero Boulevard, a 2.1-mile (3.4-kilometer) paved trail weaving around the park’s lakes and gardens. Take part in free dance and yoga classes. Find children’s playgrounds, a baseball field and an indoor ice-skating rink. Visit Parque Plaza Sesamo, a Sesame Street-themed amusement park with roller coasters, theaters, pools and waterslides.

Watch concerts, musicals and plays at the park’s two modern entertainment venues, the Arena Monterrey and Auditorio Banamex. Purchase food and refreshments from the park’s snack bars or bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawns.

Located in the Obrera neighborhood, the park is less than a 10-minute drive west of downtown Monterrey. Use metered parking within the park. The nearest metro stops are Parque Fundidora and Y Griega, both on the northern side of the park. Alternative ways to get here are to walk or take a boat ride along the Paseo Santa Lucia, an artificial river connecting the park with Macroplaza.

Fundidora Park is open daily and general admission is free. A guided tour of the park on a toy train and free bike rentals are available from Tuesday to Sunday. Opening times and admission fees of the separate museums and attractions vary. Find full details plus a schedule of events on the park’s official website.
