"Amazing stay and very good host"

"A little hard to find but worth it when we did, very good location in the centre of beautiful Lucca. A very helpful guy on reception helped us with directions and taxis We had a large and very clean room in a lovely old house."

"Villa Alta provides beautiful history and art-intense setting, wonderful atmosphere and comfortable conditions for memorable romantic, family or individual stay and events. It is located very close to the cities of Lucca and Pisa, surrounded by the very well-designed and kept Mediterranean garden with the clean and beautiful pool aria. Our family enjoyed peace and quiet at the time of our stay. Food was great, too. We highly recommend this place. "

"Beware - I booked through Expedia but will not do that again as when couldn’t get a flight in time for the first day, and I tried to change the booking to arrive the second day of my week long stay, it cancelled the whole booking and re-booked at a much higher rate. So I called the B&B to try to make the change but they cannot do this. They saved my room for me but I had to pay for the night I wasn’t there. Annoying. I had a room overlooking the plaza. "Good value for one night and 10min walk to the centre. The parking is street parking which was fine the area felt quite safe. The room was spotless clean and the bed comfortable. The walls although are very thin so you can hear people in the next rooms and upstairs. Plumbing is very noisy. We were kept up and woken up quite early because of noise. Otherwise good stay!"

"This property is extremely phenomenal. It’s built in the 1700s and has been well maintained. The area is 9 minutes from the walled city of Lucca. A taxi will cost you 15 euros there but if you’re up for an excursion the hotel rents bike for 30 euros a day. My wife and I enjoyed our stay because the host and their family are extremely lovely."

"The property was in the heart of Lucca. 12-15 min walk from the train station. Would have liked to have seen more of town. 3 nights would have been perfect. "

"Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and bed was comfortable and air con worked very well in bedroom in a heatwave! Breakfast room was a little tight for the number of guests staying and air con did not really operate that well in reception area and breakfast room. We enjoyed our stay in Lucca and Villa Romantica!"

"This property had many pluses but also a few minuses. Pluses were very helpful host hood local places to eat. Minuses were lack of a lift and having to haul bags up many flights of stairs. The hist was however very obliging carrying my suitcase up for me. Also the parking was a bit of a hassle. Had to pay for street parking until 8pm. Again host gave me some coins as the machine wouldn't work with my card. If the host wasn’t there helping this wouldn't have been a good stay"

"We liked the location and the fact it was quiet.The bed was comfortable. Kitchen adequate but would have liked electric kettle. It was wet weather and we had no control over heating as it was put on remotely and only occasionally during our weeks stay. We appreciated the clean towels and linen everyday. A welcome pack was not included ie info on nearest shop. So more difficult when travelling without a car. Lucca is a wonderful city and a few little touches would have made us feel more welcome...

"Great value for money. Clean/tidy/comfortable big bed. We went for the family room as have two kids. Late self checkin was accomodated and all check in details sent via whats app early on in the day. Super market like a 30 second drive away. Would visit again if in the area. "

"Very well situated in a quiet street that is an extension of the main via Fillungo , so really easy to access everything in town. Close to an access ramp onto wall walk too. Lots bars/restaurants on easy walk. Hosts are lovely and as it only has 3 rooms you get good attention. Breakfast in gatden when weather suitable. Aircon very efficient but mostly we had window open at night - which gives idea of how quiet street is (we could hear the water going thru the abandoned mill nearby!). If I had...
