"Fantastic location, great ocean view, excellent service, and a delicious breakfast. My only concern was with the shower, which was lukewarm on two of my three nights. When I reported it to the front desk, they explained that it was due to high demand at the same time, but this didn’t make sense, as it wasn’t a busy season. For a four-star hotel, I’d expect a reliable hot water supply regardless of occupancy. Overall, though, a great experience with just this one small issue."

The location is ideal in terms of access, but extremely noisy foremost because of the oft-mentioned bus depot, and also a school right underneath during the day. "This place was awful. NO AIR CONDITIONING which is not mentioned anywhere on Expedia. Apparently, Expedia has that info but not listed anywhere. Would not have booked this place if I had known there was no air conditioning. No fans either and on top of that window was broken and couldn't be opened. Temp was close to 80 when I got there. Expedia was of no help finding me another room. Left within an hour of arriving. Temp next day was 102 degrees. Unacceptable at any price."

"How does this look? Excellent experience with servicebeyond expectations. When I travel, I want a place that’s restful but close to what’s interesting. The Hotel Alma Moura is in a quaint neighborhood far enough away from the touristy areas but close enough to walk to everyplace you’d want to visit. The apartments are in a courtyard separated from the streets, so quiet that all you can hear is the occasional rumbling of the antique tram passing nearby. My room was thoroughly modern, with a fully-equipped kitchen, spotless bathroom, an incredible amount of storage and shelf-space—perfect for a long visit. I can honestly say it was the most comfortable apartment-style hotel that I’ve stayed at. While there is no front desk, the staff were incredibly understanding and sent somebody to check me in when I arrived unexpectedly after a transportation snafu. Everybody was responsive to my questions and inquiries and did everything possible to make my stay memorable. Highly recommended."

Sesimbra Oceanfront Hotel - Preferred Hotels and Resorts

"We were very impressed with the location of this hotel - front row seats to 24-hour ocean waves. There was a glitch with the water/pipes in the wing we were in and we had to move rooms. The staff was apologetic and amazing in their professionalism to find solutions that worked. Staff was very pleasant and friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean. Every room has a balcony I think. The seagulls float in the outdoor pool which is kind of nasty but since it’s January we didn’t plan on swimming out there. The location to local eateries is very close too which is a bonus. The tile work on the walls at floor 0 and up to floor 5 is amazing. I recommend this hotel to people. We enjoyed our stay very much. The village is beautiful. The people and staff are nice!"
