Casa Estrellas is one of the most unique properties we have ever stayed in! We were immediately drawn to the palapa and the pool deck, with its breathtaking views of the Pacific and beaches. As we explored the rest of the property and the 3 separate buildings, we felt like we were at a jungle resort. It was rainy season so the vegetation was very lush and tropical. Here were our favorite things about the property: the way the buildings were designed with indoor/outdoor living in mind, this is especially true in the main building, it is very open concept. The bedrooms and kitchen can be closed off completely, but the common area is very open. The pool and pool deck are great spots for sunsets and cocktails. The master bedroom suite has an extremely large shower that has a small opening in the ceiling where rain can come in and we got to experience a “rain shower”, which was so cool. The twin bunkbed room suites are unlike any we had ever seen and they have outdoor showers. The fact that there wasn’t any air conditioning in these rooms did not bother our 3 girls (ages 21, 21, and 14), they just kept the screen doors open and used fans. There were howler monkeys in the trees around the property who could be heard frequently and seen from time to time. We got the occasional visit from a coatimundi who I think was checking to see if we left the kitchen doors open. The property owner and property manager were very responsive, friendly, and helpful. The wifi worked well. The kitchen was well equipped. The washer/dryer worked well. Here are some things you should know about the property: It is at the top of a very steep hill in a gated community, so a car is a must. We rented a car to drive down from the airport, but once in town we rented ATV’s and drove them everywhere. As mentioned above, the design of the buildings is open and indoor/outdoor living style, so there will be bugs, but you get used to them and after the first day it really didn’t bother us anymore. The 3 buildings are separated but not too far away from each other, this did give some privacy to the adults staying in the main house and the master suite, but if it is rainy season, you’ll have to deal with the elements as you go between buildings. The location of the property is less than 5 minutes to Playa Garza and a well-stocked market and about 15 minutes to the "main" part of Guiones. Overall, we loved our stay at Casa Estrellas and the Nosara, Guiones, Garza area!
