MAIN FLOOR: Enjoy the chalets open floor plan so that you never feel like you are missing out on any of the action! Included is a fully appointed Kitchen with all the essential appliances required to cook a full course gourmet meal. Connected to the kitchen, you'll find an intimate dining nook with a perfectly sized round table that can comfortably seat 4 adults. While you are waiting for dinner to be ready, enjoy a game of pool found in the center of our Entertainment room! Once you've finished eating, cozy up on the couch for a movie night and stay warm & toasty with our gorgeously stacked stone, double-sided gas fire place. You'll also have access to our Wet Bar, making it extra convenient to make and sip on some yummy cocktails! A full bathroom and side-by-side washer and dryer are both located on the main floor as well.

DRIVE SAFE: Buckle up for one of the most scenic drives you'll ever experience as you make your way up the mountain to the Brown Bear Chalet! You'll notice from our photos that we hit the jackpot when it comes to having one of the top, most INSANELY BEAUTIFUL and BREATHTAKING VIEWS of the Smoky Mountains! With that said, we like to point out that the roads are curvy as you are driving up a mountain. If you are not used to driving the mountain roads, it can be an interesting experience. It is one of the better mountain roads in the area to drive. Take it slow, focus on the road ahead and you will see what we mean when we say, the views from the Chalet are 100% worth it! As always, drive with caution no matter where you are.

(If you want to book same day, shoot us a message and we will absolutely accommodate if the cabin is available!). WE ALSO HAVE THE BLACK BEAR CHALET (VRBO #1237424) THAT IS AN IDENTICAL CABIN DIRECTLY NEXT DOOR; BOOK BOTH TO ACCOMMODATE LARGER PARTIES OR CHECK AVAILABILITY IF THE BROWN BEAR CHALET IS BOOKED!

Cute little Cabin
The property has all the amenities you could want. It was a great couple’s destination. The shower is a double shower open in the bedroom, jacuzzi in the bedroom and a sauna. The hot tub outside was in a nice location to overlook Gatlinburg. I would buy the things you need before getting there because there aren’t many stores around.

Fantastic Views
The views from this property are simply amazing and can be enjoyed sitting on the deck or in the hot tub. The property needs a little TLC. The sauna doesn’t work. The shared shower set up is different but if you’re a little adventurous, it can be fun.

Amazing views, but…
We were moved to their other property, Black Bear. The overall stay was just ok. The views & location to everything were the best part & what made staying here worth it. My husband & I have stayed at many rental properties & this was our first not so great experience. They really upsold the listing. The property is in need of some TLC & has so much potential to be an amazing place to stay. When we got here we noticed stains on the carpet & couch in the main area. The upstairs bedroom was nice, but the bed was not very comfortable. We never used the upstairs bathroom besides the first night where we discovered the shower was not clean & had what looked like black mold on the floor. The sink wouldn’t drain so my husband tried to use the plunger which brought up a ton of gunk that looked like weed/tabacco. Overall felt dirty. They advertised a kitchen that can cook a gourmet meal. This is not the case, it was supplied with bare minimum & a blender that didn’t work. My husband & I had to go buy extras like, dishwashing soap & hand soap. Nothing was provided. We had to call the property manager a few time to get things to work. The TV & WiFi password, which we never got the WiFi to connect to our devices & only a handful of TV stations worked. It would be very helpful to have a welcome guide with house rules that lists everything out. Again, this was the first property we have stayed at that didn’t provide this and only provided the bare minimum.

We had a unique bear experience. We ordered pizza to delivered to the property. When the delivery man showed up at our door he was being chased by a large black bear. It was about 10' on his heel. We let him in the house and locked the door. The bear left with her 3 cubs in 5 minutes. The view was great and we enjoyed our stay.

Very nice house!
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. Overall the place is very nice and we enjoyed it so much. Communication apparently was suppose to go through the property manager but the ONLY communication I was able to have with him was the day before we left when I had to call him to get the door code to get in the house for check in. We had several other issues as soon as we got there, they were minor issues but I tried to contact the property manager, like the host told us we needed to if we had any problems, and I never got a single response so I had to contact the host instead. They were SUPER helpful and fixed any issue we messaged them about. I don’t think the description of the house is accurate. It makes it sound like the house is equipped with SO much more than it is. And that’s not a big deal if you’re coming to go out and adventure around and not stay in the house very much, which we did. We were planning a couple nights in to cook and enjoy our time together but the kitchen has very minimal pots &pans and utensils. The description says it’s enough for a gourmet meal so we came expecting that and was disappointed but that’s okay, not a deal breaker for us. Overall the house is amazing, everything is comfortable and clean. Just minor issues that is beyond anyone’s control that the host took care of.

Incredible
Our stay was amazing! Very relaxing environment with unbeatable views. The drive up can be intense if you are not familiar with grades and sharp turns. But the paved roads make it easy. Relax and take your time and you’ll be just fine. The only problem we encountered was a low battery chirp from a co2 detector that Doug was prompt to take care of. Clean and cozy, perfect getaway for a couple. We even got to see a bear waltz up the driveway. Definitely worth it!

Weekend getaway
We were looking for a secluded style chalet, and this was about as close as you could get. The early morning views did not disappoint. The property manager was extremely helpful and nice and the check in process was a breeze. The chalet seemed to be a little bit on the older side but we would definitely stay here again. The 10-15 minute ride up the mountain to get here was awesome.

Beautifully serene property w/ lots of amenities and a spectacular view. Close enough to everything but far enough for peace and quiet. Extremely private (just what we wanted) but have to warn other goers, its challenging to get there. Definitely recommend all wheel drive or 4x4 vehicles. Other than that perfect getaway and highly recommend checking it out!!

Gorgeous view
The house was well taken care of and clean. The view was absolutely breathtaking! However, the road to get to the house and the driveway was horrendous! When they “recommend “ a 4wheel drive, they mean you have to have it! We left a day early due to weather and knowing we would be unable to get out if we didn’t.

Not the place you think
Unfortunately we weren't able to stay there and immediately left and made reservations elsewhere. The drive to the place is sketchy at best. With the understanding that you are driving in the mountains, the roads were very narrow with almost no guardrails and definitely not the kind that you would want to drive at night. For the actual space, it is much more dated than the pictures portray. There were some broken pieces of floor upstairs and a piece completely missing from a cabinet in the family area. There were dead bugs on all of the window sills and the carpet had some stains. We also didn't realize there was no door to the bathroom which honestly, is just weird. The upstairs is just one room with no barriers or between the bedroom and bathroom areas. Would not recommend.

Can’t beat the view!
Overall great stay. The deck, view, and hot tub are fantastic. The house is comfortable. As others have stated a little “tlc” would go a long ways. Broken blind slats, cabinet drawer, light bulbs, etc. would I stay there again - yes. Would I recommend to others yes. Is the drive up steep yes, but worth it once you arrive.

Needs Attention!
As soon as we walked into the house, we were met with a very damp, musty, moldy smell. We were fortunate that the temperatures during our stay allowed us to open the windows and keep the house aired out. It looks as if there is mold or black clumps of dust in the air vents in downstairs bathroom and on the wall near the vent! This should be addressed and made sure it isn’t mold!!! Small details like light bulbs being burnt out, floor threshold broken and just laying on the floor, and no fitted sheet on the bed, just made it feel like the homeowners don’t put any TLC into the house with the money the earn from the renters. We really did enjoy the view the house had but that was about it.

House is nice could use some updates. Up at the top of the mountain great views!! The driveway is very steep. The bears did mess with our vehicle every night!! However, the bed is not comfortable the pillows are paper thin and there was no fitted sheets on the bed. Bring your own bedding!!! No where to take your garbage to and if you’re feeding a family you need to bring your own skillet. They supply the bare minimum

Amazing view
The view was the best part of the house. It was a steep drive to get to it and we were glad we had AWD. We watched the sunrise from the back deck and we also had a couple bears walk right past the house our first night there. The house definitely needs some updates but we had everything we needed there and it was so nice having a hot tub to relax in after hiking. Ski Mountain Pizza is right down the road and was AMAZING, definitely recommend going there.

Great location, nice place close to town. Be prepared for the steep driveway. Highly recommend 4 wheel drive vehicle. Not being from TN, I was not prepared for the bear that casually came around the corner of the house as I stood outside. Be aware of your surroundings at all times!

Killer views!
We had a great time! The drive up is definitely for the adventurous. The owner and property manager were very helpful with my questions, and responded incredibly fast. Nothing beat hot tubbing at sunrise in the smokies. 10/10 would visit again. There's a little pizza restaurant about 7 minutes away called Ski Mountain Pizza that was to die for, and didn't have to drive into downtown. Also noteworthy, the bed was super comfy! Just make sure you have knowledge about how to use low gears and engine braking before you come. Overall wonderful experience.
