"The apartment was spotlessly clean and well-equipped. The view was beautiful and bed was comfy.. We had a problem getting into the property as we did not receive the codes. After 2 phone calls, the caretaker gave us the codes to get in. It seems like there was a problem with Expedia. "

"Property was clean and adequate for us. However, prior photos were inaccurate, grass was long and unattended, outside seating was inadequate and showers were not great."

"We all enjoyed our stay at the Les Tramois. The cottage is really charming and is set in a beautiful location. There are horses, a donkey, peacocks, fish, hens… Our children loved interacting with the animals, jumping into a huge paddling pool as well as doing archery and bouncing on a trampoline. Lots to do for the young! There is a nice woody walk and a well equipped charcoal bbq. Fabien is a wonderful unobtrusive but very helpful host. Thank you for having us!"

"The mill was everything we expected and is just so beautiful . The gardens were perfect for our little dog to explore. The host Leopoldine was extremely friendly and helpful and speaks very good English , and was great at recommending places to eat . "

"There were a number of broken items at the property, outdoor chairs, sun bed, table, glass porch area. Both showers drained very poorly- one was incredibly blocked & we had to clean this out. The strict rules for the property- all breakages would be 30 Euros, felt unfair due to the already damaged furniture in arrival. We certainly left the house in a cleaner state than when we arrived too. The house itself was a large beautiful property, just needed a bit of TLC"

"A spacious and comfortable house in a beautiful and peaceful location overlooking a canal. There is plenty of outdoor space and you can enjoy walks along the canal. The owners, who live next door, are exceptionally kind and helpful. Highly recommended, especially for families."

"We loved our time at Champallement which is a very pretty village in beautiful countryside. Our host was extremely helpful prior to arrival and the house is just as described in the listing. Comfortable beds, high quality dishwasher and washing machine, a good garden for us and our dogs (though a determined dog could escape quite easily). Kitchen was well equipped but small for more than one person. Very good shower. Fantastic dog walks all around and lakes for swimming just 15 minutes away...

"Great spot to stay, clean rooms & friendly owners. Bedroom tighter than expected. Biggest issue was with Vrbo as had not sent request before staying for second payment / invoice & had not been paid, was rather embarrassing. Doubt if using again."

"Accueil et communication soignés de la part de Marie Joelle. La maison offre un extérieur bucolique très reposant. L'intérieur est un peu rustique mais on s'y sent bien. Un peu a l'écart des points d'interet touristiques même si il y a de quoi s'occuper 1 semaine sans problème dans un rayon de 30mn en voiture. Belles balades au bord du canal, Chatillon, Decize, Nevers... Nous recommandons pour un séjour en famille ressourcant"

Beautiful and special property

"We were all buzzing around with excitement at this property when we arrived. The kids thought it was incredible! It's such an old building, full of history and not spoiled in its renovation, it was still so characterful. The kids loved that we restricted the flow of the water at night to quieten it down, and then released it every morning - we got lucky as the water wheel does not always turn but we got some movement out of it! The house is rustic, and not full of mod-cons, but it had pretty much everything we needed. The outside eating area was lovely for bbqs, and the garden lovely and big for games. The house has a lovely mezzanine library level at the top that the kids enjoyed relaxing in. We really enjoyed visiting Guedelon, a castle that is being built from scratch in medieval style, using only crafts and skills from that period in history, it was truly a fabulous day out. Lovely villages to visit in the area are Vezelay, a very pretty and ancient village up on a hilltop, and we also loved Druyes-les-Belles-Fontaines with its castle overlooking the village with the river and waterways routed all through the streets. So pretty. It's a drive to a shop or Patisserie from the house and unfortunately the patisserie was shut for the week we were there, but the supermarket in Varzy had everything we needed. We also visited Clemecy a couple of times to explore the shops and old buildings, and watch the boats going through the canal locks. Thank you for a wonderful week. "

Great budget hotel

"We stayed one night on the way to the south of France. Hotel was perfect for a stopover. Very clean with lovely staff. Rooms are functional but bed was comfy and shower was hot. Excellent breakfast. We drove into Nevers and walked along the river. Filled with petrol at the local supermarket and ate at a pizza restaurant just down the road. "

"It’s a cute property—small and quaint. The breakfast area is a cute alcove down in a basement whose surroundings look like a cave. Too cute. There’s kinda like a spiraling stairway down and then up again so a person with severe disabilities may not be able to partake in the complimentary breakfast unless someone fixes a plate and takes it upstairs in the lobby area. Did not like that there was no refrigerator in room for my meds and no ice machines. Clerk had to get me a bowl of ice from somewhere. "
