The property itself was perfect! Nice easy to find area, nice and clean. I grew up in the North East so I know the area very well. The only complaint I have is that I wasn't sent the code for the key safe, I had to ask the nice lady in the other unit how I could get inside, she had to phone the lady who cleans the unit and ask her what the code for the key safe was.... reflects badly on the owner! The phone number provided to contact the owner on Expedia didn't work at all, so it was useless! Would I stay there again? Yes, but I would make damned sure I was provided with the code for the key safe before I went there.

Nice place to stay if exploring the North East corner. Very quiet town. Nothing there in the way of shops, so come prepared with supplies (food, etc). If you're a bit of a cook, you might want to bring a few basic implements including a decent saucepan and frypan. Good place to switch off from the outside world as phone reception is patchy and the TV is unwatchable due to poor signal. Definitely bring your own entertainment.

The property was very peaceful & had a great aircon as we arrived on a hot 30 deg day. Had all the ammenities you need, washing machine & cloths line. Only thing wrong was the tv reception was not very good but someone told us it was the weather causing it. Comfy bed but no top sheet.

Inside this property was attractive , with a comfortable living area , TV seating , dining table and spacious kitchen. Comfortable main bed ( but the dreaded doona) . A washing machine, clothesline and dryer and a carport were other features. Good supply of crockery , limited pots for the full stove , which had an effective exhaust fan . However the outside area is unattractive but Gladstone is a small remote town on the edge of the Mt William NP . There were enough bath towels but no bathmat, tea towel or wash cloth. No extra toilet paper and a tiny amount provided . The General store is close by, luckily. The second bedroom , which we did not need, is squishy and with no accessible storage. The main bedroom had a doona but NO TOP SHEET - a particularly irritating practice in some places.. Water for drinking must be boiled or bring bottled water.. No internet. However considering its location we were grateful for all it did offer.

This 2bdr unit whilst relatively new (6-7yo) could be a nice holiday stay with a little effort. The unit has clearly been used as a rental property and is not up to the standard required for holiday accommodation. Disappointing start when arriving to find the outside phone provided to contact the owners was broken. Having no mobile signal and no message from the owners with the code to access the key was ordinary, had to use the general store phone to contact the owner who did not answer and I could only leave a message. Luckily a young guy living next door who had stayed in the unit previously knew the code to access the key (how lucky he came along when he did) Ironically received a text message from the owners a day later after leaving the area and mobile signal returned (obviously didn't listen to my message stating we had no mobile signal) If this wasn't bad enough, the unit whilst new and modern reeked of smoke and was quite grotty. I woke up sneezing and coughing and feeling less than ideal. We left at 6am to get some fresh air. I suggest you put some time into this unit, it has great potential. My ranking is 4 out of 10 (less than ordinary)

Close to little blue lake
Easy check in and check-out. Centrally located if you’re visiting NE Tasmania. Close to the northen end of bay of fires and the absolutely amazing little blue lake. Nothing to see in Gladstone town though but had a lovely stay here. The apartment has 2bedrooms, full kitchen, living and dining area and a laundry and a drier too.

We only stayed one night in Gladstone and these apartments suited our needs, passing through on the way to the East Coast. There is a lovely walk to the summit of Mt William, from the carpark in the national park not too far away which is worth doing. Note that there is only one general store and servo open in town until 7pm and then one pub with very basic food until 8pm so you might be better off taking supplied to cook in the apartment like we did.

Comfort in NE Tasmania
Our room. 'Topaz', was spacious, clean and comfortable. It provided us with a base to explore the north-east corner of Tasmania.

Very spacious two-bedroom apartment with washing machine & dryer, plus laundry powder. Lots of windows all around & mainly white fluorescent bulbs throughout. Extra towels in linen closet. No WiFi available, no towel bars/hooks in bathroom, no flat sheet on bed (only fitted sheet & duvet covers for comforters). Disorganized kitchen cabinets, with many food crumbs in full-size fridge, drawers, & on counter tops. Although kitchen wasn't very clean, the rest of the apartment was fine. Relatively quiet area & only mild traffic heard from adjacent street since town is fairly small. No market nearby, only a pub/restaurant across the street. Good air conditioning unit & good sized flat-screen TV. No staff/reception on premises, so very self-contained. Milk provided in fridge was two months past expiry date, but plenty of coffee & tea sachets.

Good central position for day trips
Loved our apartment very peaceful, Private , and well furnished everything we needed . Out around the apartment could do with a tidy up and maybe a table and chairs in courtyard nothing to sit on ..The water pressure in shower was terrible ...A top sheet was not available for bed and it was way too hot to have heavy doona on ..Enjoyed our stay though good little place ..

Nice place but needs accurate description
We got off to a rough start because of the lack of good description & clarification on the types of units offered here. Only two are new & well-appointed; the third is better described as an old & run-down rural hunting or fish camp, and not at all what we were looking for--though the description of the units seemed to apply to all 3 & made no distinctions. In fact, the use of only one photograph for all 3 units was VERY misleading. Consequently, the one we should have been in to begin with (and which the proprietor changed us to) had not been cleaned since the last guest. I really don't appreciate having to wash someone else's dishes & change the sheets myself! But it was late in the day, & we didn't relish driving for a couple of hours to find something else. On the positive side, the apartment itself was very nice. Tip: bring food, as the store across from the apartments has a very limited selection & is expensive. And let the proprietor know when you will be arriving--we had to wait for about 45 minutes before getting access to the unit(s). Another gripe: despite the listing clearly stating "Free WiFi" there was nothing of the sort. No WiFi whatsoever--not even weak. The town is rural, so we had no cell service either.
