"The Garden Cottage is such a fantastic spot. My family was traveling to Scotland for a wedding and needed a nearby accommodation with minimal stairs for the 92 yr old grandmother. The Garden Cottage seemed to be a good choice until we walked in the door and WOW, it exceeded all expectations. Not only were there few stairs and 3 bedrooms, the cottage included a lovely kitchen with a large table, a sitting room, a tv room and a fantastic garden with opportunities to spot a big rabbit or two. ...

"My husband and I had such an incredible time in this beautiful cottage! We wished we’d stayed longer and could explore more locally! The house itself was absolutely stunning, and conversations with Henrietta were so lovely and personable. "Lovely accommodations. Peaceful and very quiet. Remote yet easily accessible to the train for 25 minute day trips to Edinburgh with free parking at the station. Communications prior to arrival were promptly responded. All amenities were as described in the VRBO descriptions. We had a thoroughly wonderful stay and would book here again in the future."

"Lovely spacious well-heated house in beautiful countryside. We had a week of snowy weather which was heavenly. Edward, the owner was extremely helpful. He towed out some cars which got stuck in the car park by the house, provided lots of logs, replaced the washing machine which had problems and was generally a great help. This is a house for people who like old books and furnishings...don't go there if you want modern posh."

"It's easy to forget what peace and tranquillity is living near a large city but after a full day here you really begin to feel unwound. The property was very clean, escpecially the kitchen and bedding. The hosts just left us to it which we also appreciated. I would echo what a few other guests have mentioned about the 0.5 mile track to the property however. I would recommend a vehicle with at least "normal" ground clearance. A family hatchback / saloon can make it without grounding if driven...

"The cabin was clean, new, cozy and relaxing. The shower water pressure was great and the heating came in handy. Parking spot is right outside the cabin. Waking up to a spectacular, unobstructed view with the sound of birds chirping outside was iciing on the cake. "
