New house at eleuthera's most sought after location: banks road - golden mile

Tradewinds is a secluded 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom villa, with a private pool and spectacular views of the Atlantic ocean. Located on the Banks Road in the heart of Eleuthera's “Golden Mile”, it is 900 feet (3 mins walk) across Bank's Road, down a deeded path to a beautiful, quiet, pink sand beach. The property also has a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom guesthouse which is available to rent with the main house. (The guesthouse is ONLY available to rent WITH the main house -it is not rented independently. Cost to add the guesthouse, $100 extra per night.) The area from Governors Harbour to North Palmetto point is the most spectacular and sought after stretch on the island, with gorgeous pink sand beaches, amazing reefs and great restaurants and cafes. You can walk from the house to Tippy’s restaurant along the beach.

The house is set in 1 acre of native, tropical vegetation, which creates privacy. The private pool is 24 x 12 feet, with a constant 4 foot depth, ideal for swimming or just relaxing after a day at the beach. 1800 sq feet of spacious decks, both covered and uncovered, allow for sunbathing, enjoying the ocean views, outdoor dining, or relaxing by the pool. The entire property is exclusively rented to you, with no other renters or owners on the property.

Elegantly furnished throughout, the house is inverted, with the great room and kitchen on the upper floor allowing wonderful views and breezes in the main living space. The kitchen is fitted with modern appliances and a large island with bar stools. Downstairs, the master bedroom has a king-size bed, Smart TV and spa-like ensuite bathroom with a claw-foot tub, walk-in waterfall shower and double sinks. The second bedroom also has a king-size bed, and has its own private balcony - perfect for morning coffee. The second bedroom can also be converted from a king-size bed to 2 twin beds.The guest bathroom has a walk in shower. There is private high speed internet throughout the house.

Beach chairs and 2 sets of snorkels are included with the rental. You can snorkel the reefs, swim, or walk for miles along the pink sand beaches that start just a 3 minute walk from the house. There is a 42" flat screen Smart TV (with a Netflix subscription) in the great room.

The house is located centrally on the island in what is considered the prime location in Eleuthera. It is near the best Pink Sand beaches, and there are several restaurants within a 10 minute drive. The area is called the Golden Mile for a reason! You will be swimming in crystal clear waters, snorkelling gorgeous reefs and relaxing on some of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in the world.

Ultimate Paradise
This place is perfect for exploring beaches and also having a pool. Located in the middle of the island its convenient to go either North or South. Jethro is hands down the best home owner we have ever rented from. Immediate response in person if needed. Even though right on Banks Rd the privacy is perfect! Looking forward to returning to this beautiful island and will definitely return to Tradewinds!

We loved it there...it was quiet, peaceful and very private. We would definitely be staying there again. The only issue is that it is listed as a 3 bedroom when it's actually a 2 bedroom. The pool house makes the 3rd bedroom and that has to be rented separately. Other than that, this place is fantastic. Jethro is an awesome host!

Over the 10 years we’ve been coming to the island Trade Winds is the best value we’ve had yet. It’s a great tucked away property with privacy, great access to beach, actual walking distance to Tippys and Jethro is outstanding. We’ve never had such a great host. This property is the perfect blend of real Eleuthera and comfortable housing. We will absolute stay here again and recommend it to our friends. Nice private lot with 3 minute walk to the beach down a nice path through the bush. Pool was Crystal clear and very refreshing. Beach and ocean were beautiful with plenty of area to explore or relax. Only saw a few people on the beach during our stay. House was fully equipped and well maintained. Definitely recommend.

Perfect getaway
Great private location in central Eleuthera. The beach is an easy 3 min walk. The grocery store is 6 min drive and under 20 mins to GHB airport. Everything you need is stocked in the house. The beds are comfortable. The views from the top porch are gorgeous. And, I can't overstate how awesome Jethro and his wife are at hosting. They went above and beyond on multiple occasions when things went sideways due to my stupidity. Incredibly gracious and genuinely kind hosts who live near the property. You will have no regrets selecting Trade Winds for your stay on Eleuthera.

Our stay at the Trade Winds house was nothing short of perfect. The property is immaculate. Gorgeous decor in and out of the house. Beautiful and clean pool. And complete privacy! Fantastic stay!
We loved this property. It had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, and the AC was cold. The owner, Jethro, was easy to reach and communicate with and gave us some good ideas on what to do. He lives near the property, so he met us there when we arrived, and gave us a tour and explained everything, which I greatly appreciated. There were plenty of towels, both beach and bath, and he provides a 5 gallon jug of water to start you off which was nice. Everything was clean and and the living area is a nice space for a group. The house is convenient to all things in Governor's Harbor. We ate at Tippy's, which is right down the road. If we ever travel back to Eleuthera, I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Family Adventure
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Trade Winds. It was stocked with everything needed, including beach chairs, ice chests, toys, and snorkel gear. The location near Govenor's Harbor was the perfect take off point to explore the many wonders Eleuthra has to offer. And at every turn Jethro, the home owner/property manager was there to assist. He saved the day more then once when we had car trouble (a rental car is necessary and an adventure in itself), even taking us to get pizza for dinner while we awaited our repaired rental car. Our excursions to Cathedral and Preachers Caves, Sapphire Blue Hole, Harbor Island and Spanish Wells were all wonderful day trips and regardless of where we explored the locals were warm, helpful and inviting. The hi-light was a charter with Captain Kid out of Spanish Wells, stunning beaches to comb, snorkel, swim with sea rays and pigs was not to be missed. We hope to return soon.

Stay like you live there!
The house is well appointed with everything that you need to live there. There are a collection of toiletries as well as TP and PT. The kitchen has all you need to cook (stay like you live there) with seasonings -we added garlic powder, mustard, Mayo and salad dressing- all the small appliances and kitchen equipment is there. The grill is nice, and we used it a few times. Your beach days are covered with chairs, mats, toys and snorkel gear for the family. Bring your fishing poles! Don’t fill your suitcase with beach towels they have many. The lovely pool and deck with lounges gives you something to do on your “down time.” The two upper decks are ideal for sunrise, sunset, star gazing, meals and a spectacular space launch we saw go right over head!! The location is perfect for exploring the island top to bottom. Jethro and Cate, your hosts, go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. With tips on where to eat, what to see and things you shouldn’t miss while you’re staying. If you want to live like a local and have it feel like your home. Stay here, I assure you you won’t be disappointed.

Great beach house
As a family of 5 (3 kids under 8 years old), this house worked well for us. Our three daughters shared the second bedroom which has a king bed (two twins put together). We loved the reverse layout which allowed us to enjoy ocean views upstairs. The house was well equipped with lots of towels and kitchen items. Washer and dryer came in handy and of course the pool is great after a day at the beach! There is a trail from the house to the beach which is across Banks Road. Tippy’s restaurant is a couple of minutes down the street. You can walk along the beach to get there too. We walked all the way to the end of French Leave beach from the house and the walk along the beach is incredible! Would highly recommend this house!

Really perfect!
I’m not sure what we can add that hasn’t already been said! It’s all true! Trade Winds House is perfectly situated, offers the perfect accommodations and is the very best home base for your Eleuthera adventure! It is easy to maintain and has just the right amount of amenities. It is obvious just how much pride Jethro and his family take in the regular upkeep. Jethro was amazing- so accommodating and helpful- the consumate host! We only regret that we didn’t go spear fishing with him. The house is a short walk to the most beautiful and usually deserted beach. The central location made it easy to take the rental car to explore all over. JUST BOOK IT
After rescheduling our trip to Eleuthera 2-3 times due to Covid and then a medical issue, we were finally able to make it down to stay at Jethro’s property and it was totally worth the wait! The home is located in a nice area that gets you away from everything! The beach across the street is STUNNING and you MIGHT see 1-2 other people strolling the sand but you also might not. The property was exactly as listed and well appointed-Jethro and Bubbles (his sweet pup) stopped by upon checkin to go over a few things and that was really nice. Speaking of Jethro, you can expect his communication with you to be stellar - truly a helpful and gracious host! He now sets the bar for all VRBO hosts LOL. Highly suggest Tippy’s which is super close to the house (amazing customer service, food/drinks, and view; popping down to Ten Bay Beach (about a fifteen minute drive from the house) which was jaw dropping beautiful, visiting the Glass Window bridge (and if you’re brave and careful climb up on the rocks for some amazing panoramic pics), and hitting The Market supermarket for groceries. We did go to Harbour Island for a day trip; rented a golf cart to scoot around and it was really nice-much more of a bougie scene on that island and a lot more people if that’s your thing. But we were quite happy at the beach across the street from Jethro’s and then cooling off in the pool at the end of the day! Felt totally safe during our whole trip. Like I said, JUST BOOK IT.

Slice of heaven!
This property was absolutely perfect in every way. Spacious, clean, fully stocked with beach towels, kitchen appliances and dinnerware. We enjoyed sitting on both decks, listening to the waves and watching the sunrise/sunset. Location of this house is exceptional and Jethro was an amazing host. He made himself available as often as we needed and had so much helpful knowledge of the island. The pool on site was a huge added bonus. It’s big enough for the kids to play in or just to enjoy while you cool off from the sun. The property is a very short walk to the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen! We spent most of our time there. Kids loved swimming in it, walking around finding beach treasures and exploring the rock barrier at the south end. They played in those shallow pools for HOURS as the tide went out. Tippy’s was definitely a bonus to have within walking distance and full of lovely people. Food is very good, and live music was very enjoyable. Coco Cream (ice cream) was a nightly treat and only a short car ride away- kids really looked forward to that! The restaurant next door, Buccaneers, was also amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious- we even bought a bottle of their ghost pepper hot sauce to take home. We will absolutely be back to Tradewins! Highly, highly recommend this property and location. My husband and our two kids (12 & 9) had one of the best vacations we’ve ever had together. Beautiful house on most beautiful beach!
We loved Trade Winds and feel very lucky to have found it. The house is so pretty and has beautiful views of the forest and ocean. The pool is delightful after a day at the beach and there is always a breeze on the beautiful pool deck. The house had everything we needed and the owners were lovely and so helpful and patient with our last minute booking. We loved the beach walks on the most beautiful beach in the world, biking along quiet Banks Road, kayaking and snorkelling in the bay by Culmer Rocks and just enjoying the peace and beauty of Eleuthera. Being so close to Governor's Harbour was great and we enjoyed day trips to the Cliffs, The Queen's Bath, the Levy Nature Preserve and Harbour Island (Coral Sands for lunch!). Friday night Fish Fry is lots of fun and Tippys' on Saturday Night with live music was our best meal of the trip. Monday pizza night at the Rainbow Inn with live music is a must. We love Eleuthera, there is really no other place like it if you love peace and quiet, friendly islanders and there is no better place than Trade Winds to enjoy it from. Jethro carefully has chosen one of the most perfect settings on the island. Enjoy!

If you're considering Trade Winds....DO IT!!
My family of 6 spent a week at the Trade Winds House and would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering this area and this house in particular. The house was clean and just as described. It had everything we needed and was in a great location. It's close to Governor's Harbor and restaurants as well as a couple of grocery stores. The beach near the house was really one of the most beautiful beaches I've seen. I think we saw maybe 2 other people on the beach the whole week. The home is in a nice central location for exploring both ends of the island. We loved having all the beach toys and used the paddle board almost daily. The beach umbrella came in handy although we all ended up with bright red sunburns. In the evenings we enjoyed watching Netflix and hanging out together in the comfortable kitchen/family room area. Jethro was so helpful and gave us lots of information about the island and things to do. He told us about many spots that we would have never found without his instructions. We loved Eleuthera so much we're booking a trip back next month. Unfortunately, Trade Winds is already booked or it would definitely be our first choice. Maybe next time.:) Thanks again Jethro! You ROCK!
