Sweet little hunting cabin
Cozy cabin, well stocked kitchen, super duper comfy bed! Communication with host was prompt and positive. Lots of variety in the DVD library, including action, family, and religious. The only drawback for me personally was that the building about 3 ft away had a sign over the door that said "Caution: Unexploded Ordinance, Keep Out." I'm not sure if this was meant as a joke, which it could have been, given the humorous content of other signs. But for me it was a little unsettling not knowing if I was sleeping right next to a bunch of explosives. At 5'3" I was too short to reach the high kitchen shelves, and the ladder to the loft, with its large space between steps. But I could see where this would be a great getaway cabin for hunters and woodsy people, and especially folks taller than I am!

Great Rustic Vacation
Simple rustic cabin in the north woods. Hunting theme was nice with funny pictures throughout - definitely Michigan. No one else was around while we were there. Easy drive, bike, snowmobile, or walk to Bear Lake across the street and through the woods. Previous comments mentioned no guardrails in the loft; they definitely fixed that with a sturdy railing. The outhouse is far enough away to control the smell but still easy to get to with lots of lighting at night. There is a shower and sink with hot water in the cabin. Overall just a nice "glamping" cabin.

Rustic
Everything was as described. It was just more rustic than I anticipated. No problems with the property, hosts, or accommodations. There were other guests on the property having a good time well into the night which would have typically kept my kids up but we’d driven 16 hours so they were out quickly! I didn’t realize how close the other guests accommodations were to this cabin. It was appropriate for our needs for one night.

Super cute, clean, quiet get away
We had a Friday night rental, check in was simple, cabin wa super cute, clean and quiet. Traveled with our older dog and a young dog, room for big girls bed and little girls crate. The bed on the main floor was super soft, our only complaint, but that is a preference not a problem. Thanks for a great time!!!!

Loft is not safe
As we approached the property we were surprised to see lots of military vehicles on the road and a sign on the side of the road notifying all in the area that, "field artilary may be fired at anytime of the day". That was a bit concerning and not really the quiet setting we were expecting. We had just finished tent camping for the past week so we were looking forward to 4 walls and a roof. The cabin was rustic but very clean and cute. We were surprised to find 4?? other buildings on the property that looked like they might be rentals as well but not for sure as all the windows were covered with curtains. But it was a little bit concerning as I am pregnant thinking about going out to use the outhouse not knowing who else was around. But still we could manage. The thing that really made us walk away even though it was late and we had 3 tired kids was that the loft did not go wall to wall and up where our kids would be sleeping on mattress on the floor there was maybe 2 foot walkway along the edge with no rail which was a direct drop off to the kitchen below. I had no desire to wake up in the morning and find my kid screaming on the floor with something broken next to me because they fell from the loft. We messaged the owner stating our concerns about this basic safety issue and I believe must be a code issue and we never heard back from them. It has been 2 weeks. We ended up driving home straight through the night. We requested a refund as this was not a safe situation but again have not heard anything back.
