"The staff in the hotel are all super friendly and helpful. Simple things like remembering where you sat the night before at dinner give a personal touch. There are parts of the hotel which do need updating though. Everything is clean and the beds are comfy but some areas look a little tired for example the bathrooms. Excellent selection at breakfast "

"Lovely old-fashioned unique hotel. Lots of choice for food, and the spa is fab - £12 access per room is great, and the facilities were clean and updated. The gym/health club was a huge plus and made the stay even better. I would say the Bistro could do with some redecorating - the food was good and very reasonable, but the ambience/decor was a little plain for a dinner location! Aside from that, the rooms were clean, spacious and comfy, and the staff were all really friendly. Such a nice location for a weekend country getaway "

"Check-in very straightforward, lovely helpful staff. Room was freezing when I got in, but had warmed up in a couple of hours. Probably not a bad thing, as not heating an unoccupied room. Reasonable evening meal (I got there minutes before the kitchen closed) and good breakfast. Good value for money. "
