"The pools were surprisingly cold and not very well kept. Not much within walking distance. The interiors were in good shape, but the exterior of the building is dated and worn out."

"This hotel has always been WONDERFUL. Sadly, I was taken sick at the last moment and could not travel to Costa Rica on the dates I planned. As a result, I was too ill to check my email and cancel this reservation. Therefore I forfeited the entire amount of my reservation. I understand that these are the terms of the contract I agreed to when I made my reservation. Therefore, I hold no ill will to Holiday Inn or Hotels.com. Hopefully, the next time I need to travel to Costa Rica to assist my sister I will stay healthy and accomplish my mission including a stay at the Holiday Inn in Alajuela."

"Staff were excellent, unfortunately except for the coffee shop, we found the restaurant food very mundane and overpriced. Steak House and sushi restaurant offerings require some TLC"

"Rooms are clean, staff was good, airport shuttle isn't great. Doesn't run early enough and only arrives at the airport once every 45 to 1 hour. Pool is nice but the bar has never been open. "

"Air conditioning was not great. The room was a little dusty and I didn´t like it. There were no ameneties which is fine but that was poor. Also, hot water wasn´t enough. I was only there for 1 night but I won´t come back. "

"The staff were so friendly and professional. We looked forward to the amazing breakfast every morning. By far the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. The pool area is beautiful and comfortable. We got around via Uber which was a bit of a problem because this hotel used to be called Best Western but got split into two hotels and a number of the drivers were confused by that."

"Emigration into SJO was 2hrs. Drive from SJO to hotel was nightmare. Hotel was really great."
