"Charming spot is as described, stone house with a brook running behind. Stayed in early March so the house had to be heated by the wood stove fairly constantly. Some wood was provided but we had to go up the hill to fill a wheelbarrow for another load. Internet access was sketchy at times. A weak signal. "Lovely property! The bakery is unique lodging and was in an excellent location to explore Normandy. The walk into Bayeux was a bit long but lovely along a river. We visited the DDay sites as well as Mont St Michel by car. The owner lives in a large house on the property and was very welcoming and informative, though with no one present on arrival it was easy to follow directions to access the property. This is absolutely a great location to stay if you are travelling in Normandy by car. "

"We could not have asked for a better place to stay on our trip. The pictures do not do this place justice. Perfect place to stay when visiting the DDay sites. Hotel Le Lion d'Or et restaurant la Table du Lion

"We throughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Le Lion d'Or. Excellent location for visiting the DDay memorials ,and seeing the sights in Bayeux. Great restaurants and shopping within a short walk. In the evening after our excursions, it was so nice to come back to the hotel where there was a warm fire in the bar and comfortable seating to relax a bit. The hotel staff were all helpful and friendly. The breakfast served at the hotel was delicious every morning. It included many options and everything was fresh and tasty. The woman who was in the restaurant every morning was kind and made our dining experience wonderful. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closed on Monday and our schedule prevented us to have dinner in the restaurant, la Table du Lion? The menu looked special and everyone said the food was delicious. Hopefully, we will get to try it on our next trip to Bayeux. "

"Absolutely spacious, comfortable, and convenient lodging with 3 separate bedrooms with on-suite full baths in the heart of beautiful and quaint Bayeux. What more could you ask for? Accommodations were above and beyond expectations as was the multitude of restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance, not to mention the gorgeous cathedral and the fascinating tapestry museum. It's also a close drive to the WWII museums and cemetery as well as the must see Mont Saint-Michel. Highly recommended!"
