"The hotel is a collection of very old buildings that have been developed into a luxury hotel In a really sympathetic manner. Our room was spotlessly clean & really comfortable and the bathroom was fabulous with a lovely bath and a truly excellent shower. The hotel has a smallish (but very enjoyable to swim in) indoor pool & a gym and wellness centre, though we didn’t have the chance to try these. There is an excellent outdoor tennis court & table tennis table and plenty of free onsite parking....

But very good little bakery just down the lane in front of the hotel. Just be aware that the booking and assess the your room number and pin code is only available via the web page and then wasn't obvious to find, connection on 3g was very slow. It would be better if this info was in the email. "

"Lovely team that work at the hotel and restaurant. Great location to quickly be in the middle of Würzburg and to walk over the Main River to the other side. I was just a little disappointed with the size of my room this time, especially since I was traveling with my dog. It was a little tough to maneuver in the room with two suitcases and a dog. My room in April 2024 was more comfortable. Nonetheless, we managed and enjoyed our stay."

"I stayed at the Barthels for two nights, arriving after a very long drive and immediately being able to relax. It’s clean, modern, and comfortable and in an incredible location right in the heart of the old town of Würzburg - I could see the cathedral dome right outside my window! Despite that, it wasn’t noisy and I wasn’t ever woken up to the sound of church bells chiming or street noise.
