Ala Aina Ocean Vista is a unique, 100% solar-powered private ohana with front and back private entrances situated on a former banana plantation. Nestled in an exotic lush tropical setting, our accommodation promises peace and quiet and offers guests sweeping ocean vistas. Enjoy watching the ocean from your king-sized bed surrounded by windows overlooking tropical trees, Hawaiian flowers and rolling green lawns.

Our dwelling offers a fully-equipped outdoor efficiency kitchen on the large private deck. You can cook under the stars! There is an inside private bathroom with marble floors and tiled shower (roomy enough for two), as well as an outside bathtub and shower with lotus pond in your own little garden. Classic board games, Direct TV for those that want television.

We are just 2 miles from, 7 Sacred Pools, aka The Pools at Ohe'o or also called 'Ohe'o Gulch'. Additionally we are 10 miles (30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic) to the town of Hana, where the famous Hasegawa's General Store and the Hana Maui Resort are located.

We are only 30-40 minutes to Maui's black and red sand beaches. Waioka pond, known as 'Venus pools', are a short 20 minutes away and Alele Waterfall is just 2 minutes away.

The best part is we offer each and every guest a romantic and quiet accommodation experience.

Oasis perfection

Beautiful property! Our first time off grid so a little learning process but all was good. Definitely off the beaten path but quiet & peaceful. Even saw a rainbow our last morning! Mercury greeted us & was available for questions but let us have our privacy. Enjoyed our stay very much!

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely spot. It takes awhile to get there because of the slow winding road, but it is worth it. We loved cooking and eating breakfast outside on the deck each morning. Saw a rainbow each day. The yard is large and beautiful with so many different trees and flowers. Mercury was a lovely hostess.

A tranquil stay
Our stay in this very eastern Maui VRBO was very nice. The quarters were uniquely designed and through extensive louvered windows provided us with a connection to the outdoors. Even listening to the overnight rain storms was very soothing and secure.

Highly recommend this beautiful getaway
Sam and Mercury were fantastic hosts. I cannot recommend this place more. It’s in a great location. The quiet peaceful dinners on the deck with a view of the sun setting over the ocean and mountains was a highlight. The provision of the breakfast was a great bonus.

Mercury is an outstanding host! Everything about our 50th Anniversary stay was absolute perfection! We can’t wait to come back. We spent three weeks in Hawaii and this was the highlight of our trip. I noticed that some of the reviews mentioned the fact that the house and the suite share a deck. We had the deck entirely to ourselves. It is true that the decks connect, however the house windows are heavily curtained and we never felt the slightest lack of privacy. Mercury invited us to use her deck as well and we ate all of our meals there.

Slice of heaven on earth

So restful!
The B&B is marvelous! The views are amazing. It is truly a place to recharge. Cooking on the deck was fun - and challenging when windy. The bathroom is large with beautiful windows as well. It was more breathtaking than we expected. However be prepared for a bear of a drive! Although a bit hair-raising, the views were without equal and it is great to say I did that drive. Mercery and Samadhi were wonderful hosts. We wholeheartedly recommend this B&B!!

Lovely getaway
We stayed 2 nights in this lovely B & B and had the most relaxing time of our whole vacation. Being stationed right outside of Hana proper was very convenient. We were able to go back to the Hana beaches and waterfalls and truly enjoy them at our leisure. The grounds and view were outstanding. Listening to the rain at night was relaxing. The detail that Sam and Mercury put into their B & B shows! I highly recommend this B & B!

Get away from it ALL.
This is not the Ritz-Carlton, or even the Marriott. It's better. It's glamping of the highest order. If you're trying to get away from it all and clear your mind of the garbage, you couldn't ask for a better place.

Wonderful Stay
We had such a wonderful stay! It was the perfect place to stay and do the other side of Haleakala National Park and the other side of Hana. It was so nice to come back and cook a dinner and watch the sunset and look at the stars. It rained both nights we were there and it was so peaceful listening to the rain through the open windows. Mercury was such a gracious host and all the little flowers and touches she added were so nice! I would recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a secluded, peaceful place to relax and explore nature. Thanks Mercury for sharing your space!
