Uncle Bill’s Place- Newly remodeled farmhouse close to CMA, room for everyone

This remodeled farmhouse is nestled on a working cattle farm. It is a few miles from the Ouachita National Forest and yet still close to town. Enjoy watching the deer from the front porch and the cattle and horses from the back porch. Take the kids wading or fishing in the nearby creeks. Spend the day riding your ATVS on the nearby trails and unwind in the evening next to the campfire under the starry sky. Then let the sweet sound of crickets and frogs lull you to sleep.

Our home features a fully stocked kitchen with a coffee station. Outside we have a propane grill and outdoor dining table, as well as a relaxing fire pit. The dining room has a table with seating for 6, with the game table offers seating for 6 more. The living room has plenty of room to spread out. The master bedroom has a queen bed and the attached bath features a walk in shower and separate soaking tub. The second bedroom has a queen size bed. The second bathroom has a tub/shower combo. The other two bedrooms have double beds. All beds have new pillow top mattresses. There is a washer and dryer available for guest use in the home.

Cabin away from the stresses of life
3 day motorcycle trip in the area and this was a great place to come back to, cook, make a fire, and relax. Great communication from the host. Some horses and cows are managed by the barn cat. Overall this is a gem and worth every penny.

Felt like home
Great little vacation spot. The room layout worked really well for me and the family and the kids loved getting to watch the horses and cows. Communication from host was fantastic. You can tell they care about the experience and time spent at their cabin. Nice and secluded. Would definitely recommend to others.

Lots of room to relax, fully stocked. We enjoyed the coffee bar, yard games and playground. The beds were very comfy. The water had a bit of a smell, I’m assuming it’s on a well, but it wasn’t terrible. Would stay again.

Adorable place and great location
We stayed with our children and 4 other family members - 4 adults and 4 kids all together. All of the kids loved the place. Kitchen and living room are huge. Great spaces to gather. Bedrooms and bathrooms are all nice and amenities were nice too. Kids liked the playset and the campfire and the porches. The AC unit in the house was extremely loud (my only complaint - we still loved the place). There was a storm the 2nd night and the views from the cabin made for some good storm watching. Lots of fun things to do in the area.

We Had a Blast
The property is very clean and beautiful. We enjoyed watching the horses in the pasture, grilling and just spending time with family. Short distance from a stream that we all waded in and caught crawfish and small fish. We enjoyed taking night rides around the property and spotting all kinds if wildlife after dark. We counted over 50 deer 🦌 over the three nights we stayed. Just a short ride (17 miles) through beautiful woods to the south trail head of wolf pen gap trails. We enjoyed a day of swimming and riding atv's through the mountains of Mena. The owners are extremely friendly and very helpful with any of your needs. We even had some surprise guests (Sadie and Max) a German Shephard and black lab that belong to the owners, they are super nice and friendly dogs so if they show up just give the owners a call so they can get home safely!!!

Annual ATV Trip
Our family makes an annual pilgrimage to the Wolfpen Gap Trails to explore and enjoy the Oachita Mountainside and this cabin made this year’s trip a very enjoyable experience. It was far enough away that we were unbothered by the trail traffic, but close enough that it only took us about 30 minutes to get trailer our bikes up to the trailhead we like to start from. All the bedrooms were well-appointed and felt like home. The kitchen and bathrooms were all well- stocked with all the comforts of home, including details such as spices, extra towels, fans in the bedrooms (this was a huge deal for us, even though we packed our own, it’s a huge relief to know we won’t have to on our next trip)! We were delighted with the Roku TV that we were able to stream all our favorite shows during our unwinding time in the evenings. All the way around, our stay was phenomenal. So relaxing and peaceful. I would recommend to anyone who wants to stay just down the mountain within cell phone range. We will be returning. We originally booked this cabin for all of our grown children and our grand baby to vacation with us, but due to a last minute squabble among the young adults, we decided to bring our friends instead. It worked perfectly for us and our friends, and I still believe it will be a perfect home away from home for a large family.

Great family retreat
Of all the places other family members stayed, this was the perfect place to gather. It was spacious, and the property owners were very gracious and welcoming. We also enjoyed seeing all of the wildlife from the back porch. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place you want to be. We will definitely look forward to staying here again.

Cottage with room to roam
Well designed and clean cottage had lots of space for three teens, two adults to spread out. Plenty of seating in kitchen and living area for all and large kitchen was helpful as well. We made use of the porches and fire pit and walked the country road a bit. There is some traffic to watch for - locals and a logging truck or two. We were 30 minutes from two state parks and made the short trip to explore both. The frogs were a great backdrop to our evenings and the cows and horses were pleasant to watch.

Annual Motorcycle Getaway
House fit our needs, clean, enough space for each of us, close to Mena for restaurants and groceries, but off the beaten path. Short distance on improved road and gravel drive did not cause any issues, surface stayed solid during the rain. Would recommend to other motorcycle groups.

Great country getaway for families!
We absolutely loved everything about Uncle Bill's Place. It's decorated so beautifully and has everything you need to enjoy time away in the country yet close to many outdoor activities for families to enjoy. It truly was a home away from home for our family this week. Shannon checked in on us but Uncle Bill's Place had everything we needed. We'd definitely stay there again!
