"I like these apartments, they are an easy walk from the station. They are simple but smartly done. The sound proofing on the windows is excellent and if you are in a room at the front of the building you need it. The TV reception is a bit sketchy for the foreign channels but the WiFi is good enough to watch things on your own devices. "

"The property and rooms were very nice, clean and spacious. Breakfast is not available but a ahort ride into town iffers several options for eating. "Das Stellwerk wurde originell umgebaut. Ich würde es als eine grosse Loftwohnung bezeichnen. Die Unterkunft hat einen privatem aussen Bereich. Im Eingangsbereich ist ein sehr kleines Gäste WC. Vom Entree führt eine Treppe nach unten in den Wohnraum mit Kaminofen. Die Decke ist sehr hoch und somit befindet sich dort noch eine Galerie mit einem Doppelbett. "- die Spülmaschine war defekt (wir mussten für 7 Personen alles von Hand spülen - die Verdunkelung im Esszimmer war defekt - die versprochene Mikrowelle fehlte - der Wasserkocher fehlte - keine Eierbecher und Eierlöffel bzw. Kaffeelöffel aber wir hatten trotz allem ein sehr schönes Wochenende. "

"Lumen apartments are great. Very nice parking, bed, shower, kitchen. The only complaint was a drainage smell that was coming out of the kitchen sink. We couldn’t figure it out while we were there but I need to mention that management responded really quick to all my emails or phone calls and offered to send someone to check the smell but we were out all day and only come to the apartment to sleep so we were able to tolerate the smell for a little bit. "It was a terrible experience from start to finish. The flat reeked of smoke, communication with the host was awful, and to top it off, there were large spiders. I reported the issues to both Hotels.com and the host, but the experience was beyond disappointing. Would not recommend."

"Overall looks ok. But a little inconvenient that the reception of the hotel is located a block away. Some issues with the unit I stayed, the dishwasher doesn’t work, the remote control of the TV had no battery and the coffee machine wasn’t working properly. The main entrance door is a bit tricky to open. But putting these inconveniences aside, it was a good experience."

"We stayed with our 6 year old and had a very nice time, a bed was set up for him on the couch! The flat and location is very quiet and cozy and in an easy location to explore Basel. Check in was simple. There is a great coffee shop, Coop (grocery), and pizza within walking distance and is very easy to get to from the train station as well. It was clean and comfortable and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Thanks for hosting us. "

Really nice hotel in a great location

"It's in great location, walkable from the main train station and also walkable to the main touristy/restaurant area of the city. The room we had was huge, more like a small apartment. Everything was in great condition and checkin was super easy. Having the free bus pass was very handy, as it meant we could make our way back to the airport at no extra charge (you need bus 50 to get to the airport, it stops just on the left hand side (as you are walking out) of the main entrance to the SBB station. The only slight negative is the room felt quite warm, which was the case for all of the hotels we stayed in in Switzerland. We had air con but turning that down didn't make too much of a difference. But I would say this is a great place to stay if visiting Basel or even if you are just transiting through e.g. making your way to or from the mountains. "
