"Great location. We got there at dusk - tropical pathway lights didn't work - most were smashed. Hot tub was not "locked up" as supposed to be - and cloudy. Did not want to chance a UTI so - no tubbing which was the whole reason we picked this little gem. Sink clogged up, wallpaper paper falling off, possible black mold on skylight above bed. No batteries in remote. We left a day early. I hope they fix it up."

"We loved our stay at the Volcano lodge! It was very peaceful, the jacuzzi was a nice place to relax at the end of the evening. Even though there were others staying on the property we rarely saw them. The lush rainforest was beautiful! I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again! Thank you!"

"We loved this house & would absolutely stay again! Our 6 year old daughter told everyone when we got home that we had our very own "Baby Waterfall" to swim in!! Ha! The property, the house, & the waterfall were all gorgeous & glorious. We saw a rainbow, hung out with geckos, petted the goats, relaxed on the porch, cooked dinners, explored Hilo & surrounding areas, & had a fantastic trip. We hope to be back someday."

"This is a beautiful, large house designed and constructed in the 1930s for a wealthy Hilo family. The main interiors are dark wood, with original custom bannisters and similar craftsmanship, and the furnishings are period-correct. The present owners have upgraded in various ways, including adding in-room air conditioning (we didn't need, but it was nice to have the option), retrofitted bathrooms, kitchen, wiring, and similar.
