Wonderful stay!
Close enough to the action of Octoberfest but felt like we were miles away. I loved the creek running under the back deck. We will be back again!

Lovely Helen
We stayed as a 3 day break on a road trip in the Deep South and then up to Washington DC. A welcome break in an interested "mock Bavarian" town. A great base to rest-up and relax and super-peaceful, but for the incredible sounds of nature. An unbelievably short walk into town which was great as parking in the evening looked challenging.

Never Again!
We booked for a week and left after just 3 days. When we walked inside the cabin it was literally dripping inside. Foul musty mildew smell. We tried getting rid of the dampness with A/C but that was no good. Manager said that she would see what she could do but never heard back from her again. She claims that the owner stayed in the cabin the week before we were there and noticed nothing. That is hard to believe. No refund, no apologies, no communication at all. I would NOT recommend!!!

Cute little cabin in the woods!
The cabin was perfect for our family of 5. We enjoyed being out of the busy area of downtown. We were slightly concerned arriving at night because it is back behind some businesses and we were sure we were lost but there are signs to assure you are on the right path. The bunk beds could use a little tightening but it wasn’t terrible. (Squeaky) overall we were pleased with our stay!!

Quaint and convenient cabin
I think we are 'one and done' on staying in Helen and next time we'd do a day trip, while staying somewhere else. That said, here are some thoughts on the cabin! Positives: Convenient location - walking distance to the Betty's market (grocery store) and really walking distance to everything. Back deck is awesome. Multi level decks, various seating options, creek.*bring bugspray!* Having 2 bedrooms is a nice setup for families. Laundry room. Kitchen well stocked with coffee pot and filters, pots and pans, utensils. The queen mattresses were comfortable. Quaint decor. Room for improvement - So many cobwebs, in room corners and on lamps.. seems they'd be easy to knock down. Very musty smell even in the cabinets and clinging on the dishes. ( they had air fresheners going in multiple rooms but the strong artificial smell didn't cancel the other smell) Mildew issues in bathroom with visible black spots. Bunk beds are so squeaky they can be heard from the other room. Any amount of rolling over, movement, or even just coughing causes them to start squeaking. (I see a review from 2021 that they've been like that for quite a while.) We dealt with a rodent roaming loudly at night which affected my sleeping for the first couple of nights, but as soon as I reported it they sent out pest control who trapped it immediately. Great communication & responsiveness from the management. Favorite activities were tubing, the mountain coaster, panning at the outpost, & Anna Ruby Falls.

The cabin was clean and cozy. The location was great as it's within walking distance to the main street in Helen, but felt very private since it's set back in the woods.

Quick Helen Getaway
Cute cabin. Loved the back deck and the hammock. Definitely in walking distance to pretty much all the Helen activities. Only complaint was the queen mattress in the share room with the bunk beds has a very significant dip in the center, uncomfortable for 2 people to sleep on.

A nice cabin away from the noise
Some reviews state that the road back to the cabin is a little creepy at night… is a cabin so is better if located away from the town… still a very small walk , still a very safe location… enjoy it very much

Coming up from the Hot South Florida weather, we enjoyed the cold weather and fireplace/pit nestled in a woodsy environment. Perfect little cabin for a short “not-so-far away from home” getaway. Helen is an adorable little town.

Wonderful Octoberfest In Helen!
The cabin was lovely, cozy, and tucked into the woods just as advertised! Comfortable, clean, well-stocked kitchen, linens and the check-in check-processes we easy and clear to follow. It was close to Main St/central Helen downtown as was advertised but was not easily walkable as we'd hoped given how close it was, and described to be down a long gravel road behind the FunFactory Center. We had an older man in our group that has limited walking/mobility, would have done well if it were flat/paved and with some lighting, so we had to drive to downtown spots and pay for parking anyway during busy festival weekend. But weather was great and a good time was had by all!!

Very pleasant mini vacation getaway
We really enjoyed our stay. The view was beautiful with the fall colors and leaves falling. The grill was brand new and worked beautifully. Bed was comfy. Kitchen was clean and adequate - only suggestion would be a few more pots/pans options and cooking utensils, and a salt shaker. The swing, hammock, and light bulb lights outside were so enjoyable. And the stream! So peaceful. Loved the fireplace as well. We would definitely come back!

Solid 3 stars
The setting was beautiful, but lots of cobwebs above master bed that could have easily been cleaned by house keeping. We couldn’t get the inside fireplace to work, maintenance came once to help but once it shut off, they did not reply to our request for help turning it back on again. The back porch/yard area and ability to ride bikes into town made this property.

Spacious and Great location!
The cabin is located right near Betty’s Country Store and was great to be able to walk into town instead of driving. You get the feel of being in the mountains without the stressful drive up those hills. The cabin is spacious with a great dining and living room area. It has a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of food storage. Living room AC made it a bit warm and humid, not sure if there’s a setting on there we missed. The master has a dresser and a good size closet. The AC in there made it humid (we traveled in September) and the mattress could use to be replaced (it dipped in the middle) but we made it work by adjusting how we slept and not using a blanket. The second room has a queen and a set of bunk beds. Queen was comfortable! Bottom bunk has about 16” of height to get into, so it’s a tight squeeze. The AC worked great in this room. The washer and dryer worked great! Super nice to have that in house. The back porch was huge! Has a beautiful stream right though the property. We didn’t use it this time around because it’s still mosquito season and also the spiderwebs scared my mom 😆. Hosts were super quick to answer my questions. Had a great time in Helen. Thank you!!

Property is set back in a wooded area with a shallow creek running along the house. Very quiet and secluded, yet within walking distance of Helen (less than half a mile to downtown). The only downside was the internet buffering during movies (not a big deal, just frustrating). Air conditioning is via window units, but the house is cool and comfortable.

This little gem was quite a surprise. We weren’t sure as we make the turn onto the rental road, but as we turned in the driveway we saw a cute little rustic German cottage. The backyard deck and living area was quaint and so relaxing. It was very close to town as well. We found it quite walkable.

Wilderness and walking distance
Great place close to Helen city center. The cabin sits in the forest and has a gurgling stream right next to it, which makes it feel as if you are staying in the wilderness. Nevertheless, you can reach Helen’s city center within a 10 minutes walk and therefore skip the parking lot fees. We really enjoyed this combination. The bottom bunk is a bit narrow and more of a cubby, but the kids still had a great time. The cabin had everything we needed to stay comfortable. It’s a fun and rustic place to explore Helen and some of the surrounding attractions.

Very cute cabin. The back area is SO peaceful and doesn’t feel like you’re as close to town as you are. It’s a half mile easy walk to Betty’s Country Store. We never drove into town except to drive to the Cool River outpost. It’s a super quick walk to the short ride drop off for Cool River as well. If we’d had our own tubes we could have just hopped in right there!
