I really loved my stay at Scandic grand Marina. The buffet was amazing. They had vegan options. They even have vegan salami. The property was clean and the staff was very friendly.

A typical one night hotel , NO FRILLS , but at premium prices. Worst thing for me was that there was no hot water kettle in your room to make a cup of tea or coffee for yourself , however after requesting this I did get it delivered to my room for my last days stay which was nice. The room has a special Pants steamer in it and what a totally useless piece of equipment replace it with standard kettles and play to the majority not the minority who would like crisp pants 😡 GO FIGURE. Breakfast was extensive but the staff very unfriendly - The concierge staff were accommodating , helpful and friendly. Overall the location is remote and really is only a transit hotel if you are coming off a ship imo.

Beautiful hotel in an ideal location for exploring Helsinki. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Food, both breakfast and dinner, was delicious. We found the rooms too hot, but better than than too cold when visiting in the winter. We would definitely stay again.

Well located hotel.
Well located hotel, within 5 minutes walk of the Helsinki attractions, near the ferry port and Upsala Cathedral. Despite being full, the check-in and service was good. Good selection of continental and cooked breakfasts.

Scandic Grand Marina Check in went smoothly. No delays. Staff polite, efficient, and friendly. The room has 2 closets. The bedroom is about 9 feet by 20 feet. We had a King bed. There was a safe, refrigerator, and hot water heater in the room. In addition to this there was an additional chair, and a desk with a chair and lamp. The bathroom had a sink, adequate countertop space, and a shower stall. The hand held shower fixture could actually reach the sink. The towel racks in the bathroom are heated, so things dry quickly on the rack. The room was not brand new, but it was clean and in very good condition. There are several electrical outlets, but no USB ports in the room. There is a complimentary breakfast that is very very good. Housekeeping staff were very helpful and polite. They made me feel like a valued customer. The location is convenient. We took a train from the airport to the Central station (that was about $4 per person). From there it was about a $25 cab fare to our hotel, so divide that between 4 people in our cab). The hotel is close to 2 supermarkets, close to a tram stop, and close to the ferry line as well as a local marketplace where you can get local food. You can purchase an all day tram ticket for about $8, and buy that ticket from one of the nearby supermarkets: Alepa Jungman. Many of the local highlights are within walking distance. I would certainly come back to this hotel again.

Well placed comfortable, if cool, hotel
The hotel Was well placed for access to the main sites. IT was close to the Market square, President's palace, and cathedrals as well as the ferry. Helsinki is not a large city and is very walkable. The room was a moderate size with twin beds.They were quite soft. It appeared there was simply a mattress toper over a spring base. However, this seemed to work and was confortable. There was a desk as well as a comfortable armchair. There were plenty of sockets but no international ones or USB charging ports, so do ensure you bring an adapter. The bathroom with shower (no bath) was functional I did find the room slightly cool and there appeared to be no way of heating it. There is a radiaaor but this was not on. There is also air conditioning but twiddling the temperature seemed to have no effect, either to heat or cool. I was also surprised that the room glasses were never once washed or tidied. I am not sure if this is a Finnish thing or whether I simply had a less fastidious room attendant. Similarly used towels were not changed if hung up and only if left on the floor. The breakfast buffet was generous. Not a worlds worth of cuising, simply a good European spread. Certainly enough to fill up on. In conclusion I liked this hotel. It is in an old dock building and has been converted well. I am likely to stay again when I next return to Finland as I did like the hotel and its position despite a few minor issues
