Parking is a bit difficult for checking in as we had kids and a lot of stuff, but there is a free lot down the street. The restaurant downstairs is great as well. "We had a fabulous weekend celebrating our 40th anniversary at the Shoe House. The house is beautifully decorated with every detail thought of by the hosts. We spent our weekend cooking together, playing games, sitting out by the fire pit and enjoying the hot tub. Sleeping accommodations are comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. The downstairs family room is where we gathered the most and having a full refrigerator, bar, and coffee station was a huge plus. We had a fabulous memorable time....

"This was our second time staying at Bob and Terri’s cozy home atop the hill and it was just as amazing as the first stay. It was a quick trip for us but was comforting knowing exactly what our stay would be like and that everything we could need to have a comfortable stay was already in place. The hosts even treated us to Lancaster made whoopie pies, special homemade breads and granola bars. It even smelled so clean and welcoming when we walked in and there were vacuuming lines on the carpets...

"We had an excellent overnight stay the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was 1. The young fellow who checked me in couldn’t tell me what side of the building our room was located so we could park our car on the appropriate side and when asked if any restaurants in the area delivered or could he recommend a restaurant he told me he didn’t know the area. As for cleanliness the hallway floor to the rooms needed washing. Our room was lovely and very clean , comfortable bed and quiet room. The breakfast was very good and decent coffee. "

"The property is very nice and clean. There was a paint thinner type smell in the hallways when we first got there. The smell was not in our room. The smell went away after we got back from eating. Maybe it was cleaning supplies. Rooms are spacious. Pros: spacious rooms, pool was nice (believe it is salt water), nice clean bathroom in pool area, bathrooms are good size with nice counter space to hold items, good breakfast, nice soft beds and pillows, good pool hours until 11 pm. Easy to get in and park. Cons: vents in bathroom in rooms need to be cleaned, very dusty, could use a little more vacuuming on edges of wall in rooms, would be nice if there was a clock in pool area. Only put 3 towels and wash cloths in room, we have 4 people. Again never understand why they do this for a two queen room, especially when you book for 4. We would stay again."
