"We booked this for a long weekend with the family to watch the eclipse and celebrate my nephew's birthday. The property was just as described; secluded, spacious, and quite charming. We had 6 adults, a 7 year old, and an 80 lb Rottweiler, and there was plenty of room for everyone. Lots of space for outdoor activities and even though you're literally 10 mins from civilization and a store, you feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere. The whole group said they'd definitely come back so if...

"This place was cozy, able to host my group, but left much to be desired in cleanliness. Much of the house is pretty beaten up and could use a fresh coat of paint. The oven started smoking upon preheating and we had to go buy supplies to clean it before being able to use it. It has potential to be a great rental but needs a few updates."

"I grew up in Defiance, OH as did my spouse. We usually stay with my mom when we visit for the holidays but this time an elderly aunt got mom’s guest room so we debated as to either getting a hotel room for multiple days or a VRBO. I am very glad we chose staying at The General’s Quarters. It is a cozy place, with a lot of references to General Anthony Wayne, the inevitable founder of Defiance, OH. A perfect place for two or a family to stay at when visiting this city of 20,000 in NW OH."
