We booked a 1 king bed ocean view ac did not work..had to be moved to a 2 queen bed room but that room had no water pressure in the shower. Not a good experience.

Like the “bonus” items they provided - 2 bottles of water, cocktail vouchers and a free round of 9 hole golf across the street. The entire hotel is white. Outside, hallways and rooms. Could use some color. Had a restaurant change show up on our bill for the morning we left - we never ate at their restaurant and it was north of $140. We are in the dispute stage right now. It hit our credit card after the hotel bill was presented to us and was not on the printout or we would have had a face-to-face to get this resolved.

It’s a great location, but perhaps the bay front has caused some deferred maintenance on exterior? Staff is great, and everyone is very friendly. Good restaurant in hotel, walkable location. Valet parking fee is required along with a resort fee that adds to overall cost significantly, would be nice to have an option to park yourself and come/go at your leisure. Our room was a corner with oceanview, and the reason we came back. Condition of room was good, but stain on carpet, counters, no artwork (letter left about ongoing project to update) but made the room very bare and white. We love Hilo and this location, but the hotel is in need of exterior maintenance, updating, and artwork in the rooms.

Positives, it’s on the water, beds were nice, room was clean, and close proximity to restaurants and coffee. Staff was pleasant and while they are under renovation it was not dirty at all. Negatives, check-in wasn’t ready until after 6pm, our original room was under maintenance and we didn’t know until we got there so it was downgraded (however, they waived our resort fees and valet parking), and they only have valet ($25 day).

The room had zero decor (literally zero, they even left a note on the desk to apologize for it) with a bunch of dirty scuff marks all over the place. Don’t be fooled with how modern the lobby/common areas look. Once you get to the room hallways it looks really old and crappy. Definitely one of the grittier hotels I’ve stayed in.

The atmosphere is really nice, and it’s super close to the ocean, which makes for some beautiful views. The location is great and the hotel itself has a nice vibe. However, there were a couple of downsides. First, they only offer valet parking, which wasn’t super convenient for us. I’m not exactly looking for valet service, especially when we’re just renting a car, and I much prefer free parking on-site. Plus, the valet parking was pretty pricey. The bigger issue for us was that both my wife and I broke out in hives during our stay. The room felt very humid and damp, and we weren’t really comfortable with the high moisture in the air. Our allergies got much better the day we checked out, so while I’m not blaming the hotel entirely (there are many possible allergy triggers), I do think the humidity might’ve been a factor. Overall, it’s a beautiful place with a lot to offer, but the parking situation and humidity were not ideal for us.

Trying not to be overly critical, as we really did enjoy Hiking & our stay here very much. This is a potentially very nice property & excellent location/view, but still needs significant repairs to bring up it's value compared to the cost the charge. Hilton is running this property significantly understaffed, which is stressful for bothering guests & the staff working there & trying their best. We chose to have our room cleaned every other day to be more environmentally friendly, but our room actually never got serviced, even just to bring fresh towels, until we went and made multiple requests to the front desk. Further, there usually only seemed to be one working elevator out of three on our tower, & it was usually busy with staff taking things up & down, making very long waits for hotel guests. Fortunately, since we were only on the 3rd floor, it was usually easier to take the stairs (except when moving luggage). Also, there seemed to be more than typical up charges for parking, resort fees, etc, etc, making the stay even more expensive than expected. Again, for these prices, you would definitely expect better.

Only two elevators are operational. Food at the resort is not great and expensive. Grounds are beautiful but building is showing signs of wear. Overall nice hotel, probably one of the best options in Hilo, but definitely over overpriced.
