A short drive from the airport, First Hotel is an excellent hotel with high quality rooms and facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the private tours were great - especially the Mekong Delta day trip. Staying in a non-touristy area was an immersive cultural experience. A highlight was the nearby cinema, which was a fun experience with its 4DX theatre.

We really enjoyed our stay at the First Hotel Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel is a huge complex, the lobby is elegant and beautiful. The lobby lives up to its 4 star rating if not even more because it’s just so grand looking. However, the room was a little outdated and in the small side. We are a family of 3 and there was just one seating where someone could do work. But the staff was very nice and courteous. Thr doormen were so nice and helpful. The housekeeping is very good, they came everyday to clean and make the beds nicely. Our other hotel, they didn’t do the bed unless you specifically ask, this hotel does it without you having to ask. The included breakfast buffet is very big and nice with a big selection of food to eat. Both western style and Vietnamese style breakfast foods were offerred.

Their site mislead the layout of the room. The beds have no frame so the mattress is on the ground. The room needs serious upgrade. Very antique look. They were insects around the coffee during breakfast.
