Walls were paper thin, you could hear the person in the next room snore. And the ceiling creaked as people upstairs walked. The wate pressure was lousy and the control was confusing

Excellent hotel with great views. Pleasantly surprised by superb in house dining with a great menu including options other than seafood ( like French opinion soup, lamb chops)… this is a hotel one can return to over and over!

There was a very pretty view from our room. Bed was comfortable. The room air freshener was toxic. My eyes itched and I had trouble breathing. We kept the windows wide open. The fireplace didn’t work. The TV was fuzzy. The continental breakfast was not impressive and there was no water available for tea (of which there were only 2 bags, one of which was decaf). The staff person was very curt about providing it and then it was not hot. We were disappointed. For the price, even Best Western was better.

Front desk lady, wow very rude…scolded me and my wife of 47 years like we were kids or more so beneath her. Started out the inn has a carousel horse on the deck….my wife sat on it, no signs or ropes saying do not touch. Walked back into bar/restaurant area and that is where she unloaded on us. Went back to our room to pack up, came back up and ask her name but she said she doesn’t give her name out found out who she was at check-out, the front desk lady, the older one. Traveled a lot, one of the rudest people I’ve ever met. I would NOT stay there just because you might run in to her. Ruined our stay at a nice place.

We were several hours early for checkin, but we’re graciously accommodated. Lovely inn. Good food. Breakfast had several delicious baked goods as well as other items. This was a great spot to end our week in Maine.

Drawbacks-General -Breakfast was terrible (spoiled milk & fruit that wasn't ripe) -Rude staff. We asked for water and were told to fill our water bottles from our hotel room bathroom sink -Very dusty and dirty common areas Drawbacks-Hotel room -I asked them ahead of time to please make sure the room was dusted (I have severe allergies), and they said they would. The room was covered in dust. -Very cheap toilet paper and tissue paper. -Creepy paintings. -Shower was leaking and wouldn't shut off completely. -No counters in the bathroom. -Cheap soap, shampoo and conditioner (the soap left a waxy feel on your hands). Okay aspects of the room -Small selection of coffees -No tea options -Dated and ugly curtains -Rundown office chair for the desk -No mini fridge, microwave or kettle Benefits -No pet smell in the room. -Room was nice and cold (both AC units were on when we entered). -Inn was quiet. -Nice outdoor view. Overall: not nearly worth the price. Max 2-star hotel.

The property was poor value for the price of rooms. Our coffee maker and fireplace were not working upon arrival. The toilet clogged repeatedly and wifi in the room was weak and cut out frequently. Breakfast unimpressive.

The room was large, set in a picturesque area with good bed, and the breakfast was very nice. The staff was also great and welcoming. However, the lack of soundproofing was a major downside — I could hear both the neighbors and the traffic clearly. Also, be aware that there’s no elevator, so if your room is in the cottage rather than the main building, you’ll need to walk up 2-3 floors by foot, which could be inconvenient for some guests.

The Inn was a great 'find'. The historical significance of the hotel and Inn was important to us. The natural setting is very excellent. Our room looked out over beautiful hotel grounds, well kept, and woodlands as far as the eye could see. Nice gazebo and chairs on the grounds. Good continental breakfast. The restaurant and food were good but the service was slow. Management was welcoming and helpful when needed. The Inn is also convenient to many historic and travel sites, e.g. we traveled to the Acadia National Forest from the Inn and spent a great day there. Highly recommend the Inn!!
