The sound proofing on the windows is excellent and if you are in a room at the front of the building you need it. "The property and rooms were very nice, clean and spacious. Breakfast is not available but a ahort ride into town iffers several options for eating. Keep in mind that there is not an elevator and it seems that the rooms are on higher levels. Overall I would recommend staying here as it is secure and a lovely place."

So I pressed the speaker button and someone responded and due to the language barrier i eventually resolved the problem"

"A very comfortable spot for our stay: pleasant sitting area, comfortable beds, roomy bathrooms. Easy to get to the #14 tram and onto a highly efficient public transport system. A COOP market and a coffee shop just one block away and a fine restaurant (Murano) a long block in the opposite direction. "

"We stayed with our 6 year old and had a very nice time, a bed was set up for him on the couch! The flat and location is very quiet and cozy and in an easy location to explore Basel. Check in was simple. There is a great coffee shop, Coop (grocery), and pizza within walking distance and is very easy to get to from the train station as well. It was clean and comfortable and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Thanks for hosting us. "

"Lumen apartments are great. Very nice parking, bed, shower, kitchen. The only complaint was a drainage smell that was coming out of the kitchen sink. We couldn’t figure it out while we were there but I need to mention that management responded really quick to all my emails or phone calls and offered to send someone to check the smell but we were out all day and only come to the apartment to sleep so we were able to tolerate the smell for a little bit. "

"Overall looks ok. But a little inconvenient that the reception of the hotel is located a block away. Some issues with the unit I stayed, the dishwasher doesn’t work, the remote control of the TV had no battery and the coffee machine wasn’t working properly. The main entrance door is a bit tricky to open. But putting these inconveniences aside, it was a good experience."

Breakfast was nice in gorgeous panoramic dining room. To clear up the piece about the dual front desks - the hotels are CONNECTED -its a 10 second walk to the other hotel. "Everything about this hotel works well. Good location near the city centre but is quiet during the night. Try and get a garden room rather than one facing the street. Breakfast is eye watering in price but it’s nice. Restaurant can do an evening meal but it’s not a great choice."

"Very good stay with very friendly and professional staff and great breakfast. Fantastic location in the historic center. We requested extra duvets as the 2 single ones given were not sufficient, especially in January which the staff gave us without a problem. There is only one liquid soap in the shower which you need to grab to wash hands. Didn’t see any recycling bins but maybe the system is different in Basel. Would return as it’s a great place to stay in this city. "
