Beautiful hotel with lovely service One recommendation is the lighting in the restaurant needs turning down for evening as too bright and takes away from gorgeous ambiance

Felt a bit like hotels used to be many years ago, separate carpark away from hotel with no umbrellas so got soaked getting to and from car, was told room as my ready so advised to go elsewhere only to revive a call within ten mins to say it was ready, the bar are should have been nice but was freeing cold with the fire not lit Staff all seemed a bit vacant, no one was sure what menu was available and we were given stone cold coffee at breakfast No lifts, so had to dodge the buckets catching water all up the stairs from the leaking roof

The property itself is stunning and grounds are fabulous but our family room had a shower with only one temperature setting and window that didn’t open (we only realised at 11pm when our 4 year old woke up hot!) I mentioned these on check out to get someone to look at it. There was also an issue getting food , we asked to book a table in the afternoon but was told the restaurant was full and subsequently when we went to the bar it was full of people having drinks waiting for dinner. I believe the hotel was full of people on a conference but as a family of 3 with a small child we needed to get a meal. On complaining we were served in the bar but I feel that hotel residents should not have to go to such lengths to eat particularly as a family hotel.

This is a lovely hotel. However the reception I got when I arrived was sarcastic. It was raining, I had walked from the car park to the reception (as you could not park near the reception) and the female on the reception desk said "you are very wet"! I stayed in room 147 in the Stables, which was a lovely room with a huge TV, bed was comfortable but the pillows were firm. The shower head in the ensuite was leaking out of the side. I went to eat elswhere in the evening as the menu was not huge and I did not want to spend any more money after the sarcastic comment.

Lovely property and local area. Friendly staff. Comfortable room. Dinner was unfortunately a complete mess because of the lack of staff (most were dealing with a booked wedding). Courses were mixed up, late and cold when we received them.

Stayed there for a wedding on the premises. The only drawback was not having a lift in the property however, due to the age it is understandable. Really lovely staff and a great breakfast buffet.

We had a super 2 day stay at the Elvetham in August ‘24. The staff were attentive and always friendly. The history of the house is very interesting, and a small tour by Shane made it come to life! We had a delicious meal in the restaurant, with a nice red which was very reasonable (the French cab Sauv). We also did a 5km walking tour of the fields around the hotel, following a map given out at reception.
