"We had a wonderful stay at Pousada Ancoradouro! The front desk staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful. The sea room was fabulous, and we had a drink on it looking out at the sea. The garden too is a great spot to read a book or have a drink. They also provide beach chairs that you can take out with you. Cleaners clean the room every day. "Hotel Pousada Aquarela is an underrated gem. Although the steep hill to reach the hotel made arrival challenging (initially no luggage help), staff went above and beyond throughout our visit, especially assisting with luggage upon departure. The accommodations were clean, modest, and charming, matched by genuinely exceptional service. Highly recommended for a memorable, comfortable stay."

"The location is fabulous. Directly on the main strip in front of the sea. Staff was helpful. After checking in the AC wouldn't turn on. Fixed that.. 2 hrs later it was still hot so a technician came and we went to dinner. Upon return at 1 am, it was cooler but not cold. So i let them know in the morning before heading out. When returned in the evening it was much cooler. The shower was not very clean..it had old stains. It was also very finicky.. usually scalding hot. I was on the 2nd floor......

"The pousada has a great location and is surrounded by lush vegetation. The breakfast was great with fresh fruits, eggs, pastries, juices and good coffee. We would have preferred the breakfast (or at least coffee) to be available before 8 as we are early risers. We found the room very dark. There is hardly any natural light and only one energy saver lightbulb in the room. "

"Room wasn’t clean. Lots of stains on the sheets and pillow cases. Dirty shower and the water pressure was very low. They also would not store our bags after check out. Early check out at 10am and not being able to store our bags is super inconvenient. Our ferry was at 4pm but the earliest ferry was 12noon. So even with the earliest ferry you have to drag your bags around for hours. "

"Very disappointed, the host made you feel more like an intruder than a guest. Would not recommend as after six months of travelling around South America this is the worst stay I’ve had anywhere. "
