"We stayed there for four nights. Rob and Janet were super gracious and very accommodating. The unit was amazing. The views were spectacular and the pictures did not do that justice. We got to see two bald eagles, sore and perch a top trees within our sight line of the deck and a really cute fox. The animal kind. The only regret was that we couldn’t stay there longer. "

"Over the top doesn't begin to rate this property....everything we expected and soooo much more! Our hosts were VERY accommodating. We will DEFINITELY be coming back next year. A 5 out 0f 5 rating is a bit low in our books....I prefer to rate as I TRULY see things. This was a belated birthday present from me to m foe my 68th . "Beautiful property on the lakeside, but it’s about more than just the quality of the accommodation. The hosts have considered every possible comfort and thoughtfully provided it, a fire pit, chairs, canoe and kayak, great WiFi etc. We had a wonderful 3 day stay, and would love to come back sometime soon. "The cabin is secluded as in you can’t see your neighbors and right on the water. Lake Ainslie is beautiful lake! The cabin is small but comfortable and well-stocked with everything you’d need. Comfy beds, plenty of towels and a nice shower with plenty of hot water. The owner responded quickly when I had a question. Overall very satisfied with our stay! "

Kitchen was stocked with the essentials and all bathrooms had plenty of soap, paper towel and toilet paper. The host was super friendly and helpful. "The property had an amazing view. It had both indoor and outdoor furniture to make it relaxing. The only problem was how hot it was inside with no air conditioning. The big windows allow for a great view but also let in full sun during the whole day. Open windows and fans helped but only in the evenings. and no air conditioning"

"Beautiful, very peaceful and well equipped property. Kayaking on the lake was fantastic, as was spending time BBQ’ing and relaxing on the deck. The only negative was that, while the master bed was great, the bed on the second bedroom was not. But, as a property at which to disconnect and decompress, it was fantastic. "

"This was a great adventure. It might not be for everyone but it sure was for us. There is a bit of a hike to the yurt, which made for a peaceful and secluded stay. Andrea and Clay greeted us and showed us around the place which was beautiful. There is a river right out the door that we swam in, and the yurt was so cozy inside."

"My hubby and I used the Hillview Retreat as a base to explore Cape Breton Island and it was a great place to do that from and to come back to at the end of each day. "We had a great stay! A separate sitting room allowed me to get up early and let my wife sleep in. Perfectly appointed kitchen made breakfast and happy hour easy. It’s a well-appointed kitchen, and cooking a meal would be easy, but too many good restaurants in town - all walking distance (same with the Bell museum).. Bed was very comfortable, and bath was beautiful. The place is in excellent shape, and cleaner than clean. Highest marks possible!"
