Beautiful, historic hotel makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. Huge room with classic decor. Comfortable beds with fluffy pillows and comforters. Complimentary bottled water in room and they deliver a tray of assorted pastries later on. Friendly and helpful staff. Extensive and tasty breakfast and afternoon tea buffets. Beautiful tea room. Outdoor restaurant for lunch and dinner with decent food. Steps away from lots of shops and restaurants. No convenient public transportation, so must take a 15 min taxi or Uber to main tourist attractions in Sultanahmet. Easy to get a taxi/Uber at the hotel, but impossible to get an Uber back and taxis charge an inflated flat rate.

Overall customer service is terrible. It is not a welcoming hotel. Staff is just there. Upon arrival we were given our keys, nothing explained about property or amenities as usual during a check-in. We had to figure everything on our own. Forget about “vip” access, they completely lack at customer service. The breakfast has an amazing selection but again lacks service. Would never stay at this hotel again nor recommend. It was truly not the experience we were looking forward to. Unfortunate end to our trip.

Beautiful Classic hotel in center of old Istanbul a short walk to Taskim shopping street. Excellent service at check-in including riding to your floor in original hotel elevator. The Main central lounge and bar is a classical 2 story tall wood paneled very large room filled with antiques giving one the experience of being back in the 1800s in the place to be after arriving to Istanbul on the the Orient express train. Definitely recommend.

We stayed on the second floor, and it was very noisy. There appeared to be wedding receptions or parties in the main lobby two nights, and there was loud noise from an outside nearby establishment. This affected our sleep and was very frustrating. The hotel itself, restaurant, foo quality, staff and other factors were very good.

When I checked into this hotel the entire lobby was rented out by a private party for 2 days. I have been to many hotels in my lifetime never seen a lobby of a hotel rented out for a private party. Question to hotel management where do you expect your hotel guests to sit and relax when the lobby is off limits for a couple of days?
