I’m not from the area this hotel had very old damaged burnt blankets on the bed., The safety door latch was missing. I ended up not staying in the room.

We evacuated here during hurricane Milton and stayed for a week - midweek rates were only $68/night, which was a godsend. For that rate, this place is basically the Taj Mahal of hotels. It's clean, quiet, safe, everything works, and they seem to do basic housekeeping twice a day. Keep in mind - it was $68 - so there's some minor scuffing and damage around the rooms, and the AC units do unfortunately put out a bit of a mildew smell, but if you open the windows it clears out very quickly. To find a nicer hotel/motel you'd probably have to double the price point. Friendly staff and housekeepers, and convenient location close to Aldi, Starbucks, various fast food and gas stations, and about a five minute drive to the great San Marcos neighborhood with tons of food options.

The Emerson Inn was a great find. The cleanliness was good, I would say 8/10 as all the linens and the room were extremely clean. The missing 2, was because there was some very minor smell, which seemed to be originating in the mattress, but nothing make or break. For the price it is way better than other places I have slept in.

The staff were all friendly and the rooms are clean and excellent at this price point! It was quiet there, the morning coffee was delicous, and Lyft coming back from town was inexpensive.

My kids and I checked in after 11pm. We were running a few minutes late at check out as we had woke up a little late. As I was in the shower, the room attendant opened the door with my kids and I finishing up getting ready. My children told them that we were gathering our things and were leaving. The attendant proceeded to keep opening the door as we were getting dressed to go. When I got out the shower, I closed the door so that I can change in private. They proceeded to try to enter the room. My kids and I left by 11:20am. Very weird behavior. They didn’t stop trying to open the door until I started getting a bit irate.

I paid to extend for another day and was told that we would have to pay an additional $20 at the counter or leave and come back at 3pm. I’ve never experienced that at any other hotel when extending a booking. I won’t be staying again because of the inconvenience. I could have just left and went to another hotel all together.
