Quiet, Relaxing Rural Retreat, Panoramic Views

The house is on four level acres at the end of a country lane, with acres and acres of rolling meadow around it. The location is convenient to shopping and restaurants in Jasper (nine miles away) and to Smith Lake recreation (six miles to Duncan Bridge and the marina there).
The house is fully furnished, clean and well-maintained, with new central air conditioning and heating. All the bedrooms have overhead fans. The three bedrooms can sleep 5, and a futon in the den can sleep 1-2. There's a full bathroom near the bedrooms and a second bathroom off the den at the other end of the house.
Among the pleasures of this rural setting are the outstanding views on all sides. (A tip: the changing light at sunrise is worth getting up early for!) A cooling breeze is usually present at this elevation, great for relaxing in the shade or grilling on the charcoal and gas grills provided. Sightings of deer, wild turkey and many birds are possible.
Plenty of parking for vehicles including boat trailers. Carport with two bays for parking and a third bay reserved for outdoor dining and grilling. Spacious driveway/yard for parking. There's a 12-ft-wide gate on the driveway.
The front porch is great for morning coffee. There's a rear deck off the master bedroom with an outdoor shower.

Spacious house with a huge yard. If you are looking for a quiet getaway but still close to town look no more. We sat outside a lot watching the wildlife. The carport is wonderful. There is a big table and lots of chairs. The house has everything you’d need. They put lots of thought into preparing the house for guests. Very nice people and they are quick to answer questions. I highly recommend this rental

Very quiet place to stay. Just be careful driving up to the gate. The "road" is narrow and has a couple of potholes on the sides as well as a tree that is very close to the edge of the road. Other than that the property was as advertised. As my fishing buddy said, "I feel like I'm staying at someone's home".

Quiet Country Stay
This house sits on a rolling field with a gorgeous view. The house is comfortable and could easily accommodate a large group. Everything you could possibly need is provided and is easily accessible. The bed was so comfortable and the area so quiet we both had no problem sleeping past our usual waking time. All the rooms were thoughtfully appointed with extra touches like blankets and books which was wonderful as it was cold outside. Communication with Janie was easy and we felt well cared for. By the entrance you can find information about the house as well as the area. There is all the extras provided if you are there to enjoy the area lakes. A place to park boats and multiple cars. A large area with outdoor seating and two grills with great lighting. This house feels like a home.

comfortable house in a bucolic setting
This 3 bedroom house is the last one on a dead end country road, affording you a great deal of privacy. The large yard has nut trees and unmown grasses bordered by mown areas hosting meadowlarks and bluebirds, which sang for us every morning. The fog resting on the fields at sunrise was picturesque. Beds and living spaces were comfortable and descriptions were accurate. The kitchen was well-stocked. Neighborhood dogs do run free and did visit, but did not harass us. A pleasant homey space.

Smith Lake Stay
Thank you for sharing your home with us. We are a family of competitive fishermen and always look for places that provide comforts of home, space to have multiple boats and trucks, and a safe/clean area. We hit a homerun with this one! Although we had 3 in our group this trip, there was more than enough room for us to relax. The views are incredible. Hope to come back to Smith Lake and this home soon. Thank you again! Clean, perfect for fishermen with Bass Boats, easy parking, property is safe, owners very responsive, we cooked breakfast each morning and everything you require to cook is included. Great WiFi we used the gas grill for grilling steaks one night. 3 miles from gas station and grocery. 11 miles from Lewis Smith Dam access. I have been renting houses for fishing the last 10 years and this is the best I have rented. Highly recommend it.

Excellent house for Tournament Anglers coming to fish Smith Lake launching out of the Dam
I have stayed at this rental house previously the last time the FLW Tour came to Smith Lake in 2018. When it was announced that Smith Lake would be on the MLF Pro Circuit schedule in 2021, I immediately booked this property because it had all the needs that we are looking for when we travel to a bass tournament! 1) Great Parking for multiple boats/trucks. Covered carport can squeeze in two boats. When they get the barn completed, there might possibly be even better boat parking. 2) Safe!!!! You are out in the country. We even left our electronics on our boat at night. There were a couple nights during the week I even left rods on the deck. 3) Electrical outlets easily accessible for charging a boat 4) Good WIFI 5) Grill 6) Communication with the owner was beyond expectation as well! 7) 15 minutes to the Smith Lake Dam launch where most tournaments go out of 8) Affordable **BONUS** 9) Good water pressure in the shower And now for the downside... I didn't read the schedule correctly prior to booking. The event wasn't out of the dam but went out of the big park in Cullman which was 45 minutes away. The house still worked out great and for prefishing purposes it still had us right where we wanted/needed to be. I will be booking this house again immediately if I ever see Smith Lake pop up on the schedule again!
