"My husband & I and our dog enjoyed a long weekend getaway. The location was perfect for walking to town and exploring nearby shopping, restaurants and our dog loved swimming in Mirror Lake at the doggie beach. We also did some hiking at at some nearby trails as well as rode the rail trail to Saranac Lake. Josh was quick to communicate with any questions we had. So happy to have a dog friendly place with lots of activities for all near by. We will be back!"

"The property is in a prime location on Lake Champlain. We brought our own kayaks and access to the lake was easy. The house was stocked with everything we would need and the hosts were very attentive. Helpful Info was provided on activities and shopping in the area. One suggestion for future guests is to bring reading lights, since lighting in common areas was rather dim. "

"All good! Would suggest to the owner that the TV have more options. I am not a TV watcher, but I did want to catch up on the news and found that difficult. Maybe an antenna would help if there are local channels that can be received. Other than that, I would suggest a shade on the front door to provide more privacy. Other than that, I would highly highly recommend this place as it was quiet and comfortable in a good location and clean and convenient and well appointed"

"My husband and I were in Keene to do some hiking and found Dorothy's cabin perfect for our needs. The inside was so warm and inviting and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen adequate to prepare a few simple meals. The location was perfect for the trails we intended to visit. There was a Stewarts close by so we could pick up breakfast pizza or sandwiches on our way out. "If you are good with an authentic rustic environment- complete with small rodent catch and release trap under the stairs, a little water coming in the bedroom ceiling when it rains, bugs galore, and supplying your own drinking water— then OK. Everyone else consider yourselves forewarned. There has been absolutely no maintenance done on this property in decades. The local staff are wonderful."

Getting to and from the island is pretty smooth - ferry drivers were usually ready in a couple minutes time. "Moreno's Cottages are a pleasant series of little cabins between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. My brother and I stayed in #7. There were two twin beds, a nook and a small, separate kitchen area. It was rustic, but modern enough to feel like you had a place to relax after a hike. We did have some problems getting in, but Todd was super accommodating and had backup codes for us to use. "We were very excited to arrive at this beautiful location, however, the listing doesn't accurately describe this rental. Be aware that the windows don't close properly (or at all), there is a lot of noise during the night, properly critters. This unit is above someone and the neighbors are quite close. Very nice ferry driver! If you are into a glamping experience, it is worth it, but the price should reflect this."

"We stayed at the”Blackhaus” January 19-23. The house was perfect for our 3 teenage boys and my wife and I. It is a bit off the road which offers serenity and peace. The house is well appointed and met all of our needs. It is located just about 8 minutes from whiteface ski resort and about 22 minutes to lake placid. I Will definitely stay here again. "

"The property was amazing - clean comfortable and beyond what we imagined. There are several gathering spaces to accommodate everyone. The kitchen has everything you could need including a food processor and crockpot. Carlos was a great host who answered every question so promptly and graciously.
