Tizer Botanic Gardens Cabin 1/2 way between Yellowstone & Glacier National Parks

20 years ago my husband and I purchased this ground and began to pursue what became a dream! Gardens! What started as one acre with a house and 2 cabins has expanded to 7 acres including a nursery. Over the years, we have been elevated to a Botanical Garden and an Internationally accredited Arboretum and have been recognized in many national and international publications as well have earned numerous awards.
This year, we have decided to welcome visitors to our after hour world to privately enjoy the gardens and our very special cabins. If you are looking for a special experience this is it!
Cabin #1( The Iona Cabin) is 140 years old! We restored it the first year that we were here but it is still rustic! This one room magical fairyland cabin sits in the heart of Tizer Botanic Gardens, in the elbow of Prickly Pear Creek. Snuggle up to the original cook stove, or hang outside and watch the stars while sitting by the fire. Lay in bed and listen to the sound of the rippling creek or better yet sit at the creek and pan for Gold. There was no indoor plumbing back 100 plus years ago and still isn’t. But we have added a great Toilet House with composting toilet, separate from the cabins.
Iona Cabin has a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine and toaster. Please come prepared as though you are having a picnic. Bring your own dishes, utensils , food and beverages.
Iona Cabin has a queen size mattress and the bedding is lovely and fresh.

Cabin #2 (The 7/11 Cabin) is only big enough for a double bed. Literally! But while Cabin #1 sits in the elbow of Prickly Pear, Cabin #2 sits in the middle of the Creek on a lovely little island. You can almost lie in bed and throw your fishing pole in the creek! It has a wonderful living roof! The 7/11 Cabin was built as a sleeping cabin and that is what it is, with room enough only for a double bed and night table. Therefore we rent this cabin as an addition to the Iona Cabin if you should need an extra bed.
You are welcome to use the BBQ, have a wiener roast by the fire or we can direct you to some outstanding restaurants that are a short 5 mile drive away. Why not take your breakfast to the sweet gazebo in the middle of it all. Oh and did we mention that the trees are lit up at night?
Our gardens are open to the public daily from 10- 6:00, except Thursdays we are open until 9. Once the gates are closed to the public, you are welcome to enjoy the magic all on your own. We live on site and if requested may be available to give you a tour.
The time spent in our cabins will be healing and stress free. There is no wifi, TV or phone service. Come to meditate or get reacquainted with someone special or just to get lost in Mother Nature’s Beauty.
We are located one mile off I-15 halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National parks, just 18 miles south of Helena the state capital of Montana, in the heart of the Elkhorn Mountains. Just 3 ½ hours from either park.
Our guests are requested to park in our private driveway so that you have access to your vehicle in the evening. Because of the excess of wildlife in the area, the property is fenced with a tall deer-d- fence for yours and the gardens protection.

Lovely retreat
We took my mother for a much needed get away retreat. Tizer garden has long been her happy place! Belva settled her right in with a cup of tea and made sure our needs were met. We had a lovely fire by the creek and a wonderful evening! Bed was super warm and comfy too!

Rustic cabin in a beautiful garden
I enjoyed my stay at Tizer Garden cabin. It is very charming. Your needs are provided for with a water cooler in the cabin and composting toilet some distance from the cabin. There is no running water other than the water machine. Outside you can grill and make a fire. Prickly pear creek runs right by the cabin. I enjoyed the beauty of the garden and the solitude after five pm when the garden closes to the public. The cabin has electricity and does provide a keurig, a few silverware, cups and wine glasses. A gas barbecue is on site as well as an outdoor fire pit and wood. Bring supplies and dishes for making dinner. A fan is provided, as well as electric blanket and heater. We went in August, so only the fan was needed. Overall it was a very worthwhile experience!

This was far from failing us. It is absolutely awesome. The sounds of the creek at night, and the amount of time and effort put into it shows the heart and soul of the owners. Belva is absolutely awesome as a host! She is very inspiring! We look forward to going back again! Definitely 50 stars!

Beautiful, charming, unique, cozy spot
What a lovely and special place to stay with a few friends or family members. Belva is very kind and accommodating, the gardens were bursting with flowers in early August, and there are so many spots to wander, relax, and chat. Loved the charming cabin and twinkling lights, and the fact that there's a grill and multiple tables for easy picnicking.

It’s a blessing
This place is a little blessing and reward for something good you did in your life. If you want to experience a place that has been built with love and with the motto - one with nature, this is where you want to stay. The accommodation is exactly as described - and inspite of 90 degree days we did not need an AC (just keep the glass shutter open and the fan on at night and you will be snuggling under the blanket). The toilet is a few 10 steps away the cabin but isn’t that how it was before we built modern houses or when one goes camping? Put your wine or beer in the stream and it cools down to the perfect temperature, grill your dinner on the grill and grab that glass of wine and stroll around your private garden catching up about the day past or the day ahead of you. We will definitely be staying here when we come back to hike Montana! Our host was the best and kindest person and thank you B for extending our stay due to delta’s meltdown.

Absolutely amazing!!
I booked this little cabin for my husband and his father to have a place to stay near the starting line of a race my husband was competing in. They both were thrilled at how amazingly helpful and kind the host, Belle, is. They said the views are stunning and the property is truly amazing with all of the features. Belle was a dream to work with, communicated with me so well and even hooked them up with the smaller cabin so they’d each had their own bed to sleep in and no one was on a cot, or the floor. We will definitely be booking her cabin/cabins another time just for ourselves and our kiddos to have a weekend getaway.

Perfect staycation spot
My wife and I had a little staycation in the large cabin. The property is one of a kind and beautiful, but having it to ourselves for a little while was truly special. Gorgeous flowers at every turn, plenty of places to sit back and relax, and the gentle sounds of the Prickly Pear to lull you to sleep. Belva was an amazing host and can’t wait to stay again!

Tizar Botanic Gardens and cabins were wonderful and convenient from Helena. Belva was very helpful when we arrived made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. We rented both cabins and it was heavenly. The cabins are adorable and comfortable, and the property is stunning with beautiful surprises and lush ferns and flowers everywhere - magical! Peaceful Retreat
The rustic cabin is next to the creek and paths that wander through garden areas with benches and tables. Our favorite times were the evenings and early mornings when we had the gardens to ourselves. The greenery, flowers, trees, creek, birdsong, and friendly host make Tizer Gardens a special place.

The cabin was very nice, the decor was well thought out and really gave a sense of what it was like to be a homesteader back in the 1800’s. What I don’t feel was well communicated or advertised is that the bathroom facilities are NOT in the cabin, it’s a compost toilet in and outhouse. There is no running water in the cabin or bathroom, she does provide water in both places but there is no sink in the cabin and the sink in the bathroom has to be used with water from the dispenser. Just information that should be noted for future guests. We had a fabulous time at the gardens, slept great in the comfy bed in the cabin, and enjoyed a great fire with wood that was provided. We really did feel like homesteaders!
