The Blue Jay's Blue Chalet is nested in a quiet wooded area, close to wonderful hiking trails, and ski hills. The property, bordered by a stream, is an ideal place for nature lovers. Enjoy a great location in a peaceful setting.

The chalet has been fully renovated while maintaining its original charm. One queen size bed and two twin size beds (trundle bed) are available. The bedrooms are accessible via a steep and narrow staircase, undeniably charming but not for everyone. The kitchen has what is needed for cooking and enjoying meals. Linen and towels are provided.

The chalet is close to the Long Trail hiking trail and approx. 600 yards from the Smugglers' Notch ski resort. The chalet's location makes it feel secluded yet close by is Smuggler's Notch, ski hills, hiking trails and a pub, all within walking distance. In the village of Jeffersonville 5 miles from chalet, one can find restaurants, a post office, hair salon, art galleries, canoe rental. The chalet is a 2 minute drive to Smuggler's Notch ski resort, however in winter the direct road over the mountain between the chalet and Stowe is closed, the drive around to Stowe is approx. 50 minutes.

You can choose from a variety of activities in the area ranging from wine tasting, disc golf, canoeing hiking to ziplining. Don't forget to set aside time to rest, relax and enjoy the surrounding nature.

Great Autumn Trip

Second Season of Perfection!
This is my second season staying in the blue chalet and truly 5/5 stars. From accurate description, easy booking, easy check-in, to a cozy stay for me and my pup, we love this place! Vermont family reunion
This cabin has everything needed for a private stay in the Smuggler’s Notch area. The sleeping loft has very steep stairs so not recommended for those with physical challenges. The cabin is situate above a mountain stream that sounds great from the deck. It’s proximity to smuggler’s resort made it good for us to meet up with relatives staying on the resort and go out to explore the local area.

Nice little house close to activities.
Our family of 4 adults and our dog stayed for 2 nights. House is nice, equipped with kichenware, washer/dryer, coffee maker, AC in main bedroom. Narrow, steep stairs to loft with 2 bedrooms, no door in between rooms. One has queen bed and the other is a day bed with trundle. Trundle bed low to floor was not ideal for adult but we did ok. Loved the brook in backyard with adirondack chairs and firepit. Keep in mind check in time not till 430pm and check out is at 1030am. Close to Smuggs and Stowe if you go thru the notch. We'd love to come back.

Super cute chalet but not for everyone
Adorable chalet! Owner was very efficient with getting back to me when I had questions and it was very clean and well kept. Smugglers was literally a 3 min drive! Small things to note when booking….The chalet is tiny. Our family of four (2 adults and 2 kids under 13) found it too tiny. The couches are two love seats and it was challenging for all of us to sit together. The TV is via Chromecast only so make sure you bring a device and know how to do that. Upstairs was hot and we’re from Florida. I’d definitely recommend a standing fan to help circulate air. We tried to use the portable AC/Heater but that didn’t seem to circulate any cold air. Other than that, it’s probably a perfect place for two people, maybe 3. Beautiful surroundings!

Like a treehouse in the woods
We rented this beautiful cabin for four nights at the end of August for a couple getaway, and it did not disappoint! While just off the main road, it is tranquil and private with the sounds of the stream as gentle background noise. The furnishings are minimalist but the kitchen is fully equipped. Everything you need is provided - just stop off in town for groceries on the way in and you're good to go. The stairwell is fairly steep and narrow but the bannister is solid. There's a bit of a musty smell which is not entirely surprising given the rainforest-like location. All in all, a fantastic choice and one we'll likely book again in the future!

My wife and I enjoyed staying here. Nice location. The only thing is the stairs to go up to the bedrooms are really steep and narrow and were a little hard getting up and down. Also I wish the windows or doors would have screens so you can leave open to hear the stream but too many bugs.

Jefferson Chalet
My wife and I loved the Chalet. Great location - quiet and private - a beautiful stream running behind. A great back porch to sit and enjoy nature from. Chalet was in great condition, well functioning TV, washer dryer, etc. Maude and her husband live in the area and are very responsive to any issues that may arise. Definitely would stay there again.

Cute cabin by a creek
We enjoyed our stay in this cute cabin. Very close to Smugglers Notch. Right on the creek- so nice to hear it running when we were outside. We didn't spend a ton of time out there due to mosquitos. So bring some big spray. Great spot for 2 people. I would not recommend any more than 2. No bedroom doors. Also the stairs are very narrow and steep. And then bathroom is downstairs. We tried very hard not to go to the bathroom at night- didn't feel safe. Communication with the owner was fantastic. Very quick to respond.

Been there more then once...
Second time here and plan to keeping coming back as long as they'll let us! All the essentials you need. Wifi washer/dryer, well equip kitchen, etc. Smuggs is literally your back yard..Stowe about 50 min ( when 108 closed for winter). Cambridge and Jeffersonville are quaint little towns in the area and have everything you may find yourself needing. Pet friendly with great woods and river out back to explore. Owner is great to work with and always there if you need anything. Hoping to sneak some more time in this winter if at all possible!
