Nice place
First of all the owners are super nice and appreciate you renting their unit. The unit was very convenient to explore the area of Jemez Springs as there are not many options. The unit itself was just fine and at some point would be a great project for a renovation. The kitchen was supplied with all you need to prepare any meals.

Amazing!!
Sweetest owners that meet you at the property to unlock the gates to let you into the property. Amazing home with your grandparents charm and the iron work that this man did absolutely amazing, very close to the beautiful river that you get to fall asleep to and wake up to. Our family will be coming back for sure hopefully a few times a year. Thank you Howard for letting us enjoy your family’s amazing home!!

Beautiful location at your grandpa's cabin
This property is in a stunning area! We felt a little like we'd called up our grandpa to stay at his cabin (more like family stepping into the house and making ourselves at home than staying as guests at a rental.) The check in process was very specific and the number of gates and locks felt excessive to us, but we're sure Howard (who was lovely) has his reasons.

Nice place
Nice place. Big enough inside for 6 adults. We were 3 adults and one teen. Easy access to everything. A lot of outdoor living area. Only thing is driveway was pretty steep. Owners are very nice! Even furnished some wood for fireplace. Will stay there again!

Return to NM
Location was beautiful. Easy to find but you have to be mindful of cell service or lack of... Had difficulty receiving instructions due to poor reception, but fortunately it was easy to find with help from friendly neighbors & Howard did wait a bit longer for us to arrive. MANY THANKS!!! Keeping track of multiple keys for various locks, took some time but the property was secure. We initially questioned all the locks but after observing tool marks and cracked windows, it was probably for the best. Plenty of clean linens, cooking equipment, silverware, etc. Nice collection of Pueblo pottery, Native Am blankets, baskets...,another reason for security. Not much in way of nearby groceries or restaurants, but very convenient to hiking paths: Soda Dam, natural hot springs, scenic drive to Valle Caldera & Los Alamos. Would stay again & spend more time in river. Thank you Howard for sharing your art & cabin w/ us.

Mountain goat
Steep driveway that scraped bottom of car. Steps to river great if you're part mountain goat. Many many stairs. Alot of traffic noise. Hot. No ac. Large deck with huge remote control awning. Beautiful NM pots and decor. Tried to talk to owner a few times. No response. High up in trees.

Review
The location was great, but the cleanliness was less than adequate- especially the kitchen. Wifi was advertised but it was so weak that no signal was available rendering it useless. The entrance to the dirt driveway was high with dirt that cars scraped their bottom when entering or leaving. Otherwise enjoyed ourself

Unlivable, no heat in wintery conditions and poorly maintained.
Sorry no pictures. The high priority issues are the heating. Furnace was not working, probably broken thermostat. Fire place not drafting. Base board heat not working either. Not livable without heat. Another major issue is the floor failing and sagging with many floor tiles popping off floor. Minor issues are the beds are too small. There are 3 short full beds which is ridiculous. Need some larger beds. The rooms can accommodate long full, queen, or even 1 king. It was very expensive and the place should have better beds and not be so run down. I do admit the description stated only full beds, but didn’t realize they were so short. I did discuss this with the check-in staff and owners. It was a miserable experience taking two days to pack for Christmas Eve in the mountains. Drive my family a few hours and end up turning around and heading home , another few hour drive. Location is awesome. Really a beautiful location. The house just needs some serious TLC. Other observations: only one couch in living room. Oven and fridge are really old. Bars on windows are ugly. Regards, Von Trullinger 505-803-1561

Beautiful cabin
We really enjoyed our stay at Casa De Jemez, very clean cabin, kitchen well equipped, quiet and peaceful. The best part was relaxing on the high deck between the pine trees listening to the birds and enjoying the nature around you. We used the wood fireplace to roast corns and make smores. The only suggestion I have to the owners is to replace the Full size bed by a Queen bed in the master bedroom.

Howard and Cathleen were more than accommodating when my travel plans were altered due to weather. The property is nothing short of amazing! Comfy, clean, well furnished and perfectly situated in the mountains....about 1.5 hours from Albuquerque. The drive up to it is stunning and it's very peaceful up there. You can hear the water down below while sipping coffee in the kitchen. I will rent this again, but for more than 5 days.

great hideaway near hot springs
This home has a lovely stairway going down to a gazebo and creek, the creek is magical and invigorating. That part is very special. There are lovely native American art pieces all over the living area and three bedrooms. The only negative were the numerous keys needed for entry and exit.

Quite comfortable home
Very quite stay away from hustle and bustle. Has all the amenities needed for a short or long stay. The place could use a little updating but was a great place to stay. I spent seven days here with my wife and three kids and had fun the entire time. No cellphone coverage made it a great place to take everyone away from their phones and just spend some quality family time together. Hot springs and ski resort just down the street made for an awesome vacation. The owners were very nice and easy to speak with. They welcomed us upon arrival to show us the place and also contacted us upon leaving to make sure we had a great stay.

Beautiful and Quiet Property in the Mtns
We loved this little home in the mtns of Jemez. It was close to town and also an easy drive to Hot Springs. The metal work around this home is very beautiful but also safe if you have little ones. It is right by the river but very protected with fencing and metal gates. We felt very safe here with our two three year olds. We had everything we needed here to have a great weekend. The owners are very nice people who made sure we were very comfortable and even called us the day before to make sure we knew how to get to the home. Great experience.

Great location, quiet & nice town.
Location was nice, quiet. Enjoyed stream down at bottom of steps plus swing on upstairs porch. House was comfortable, trees kept house cooler during day breeze at night made sleeping very pleasant. Restaurants in town were nice, food was very good, people were friendly. Only regret I had was owner was some what unresponsive and wash & dryer were unobtainable had to wash clothes in laundromat. Owner's assistant Miros was a true blessing, very friendly and helpful. Was able to get a response from her immediately. Good place for both adults and older kids.
