"Friendly and lovely place. Our room was small but it had everything we needed. Jo kindly left us croissants and yogurts for the morning and was very flexible with check-in. Askrigg is a beautiful village. It’s certainly worth a visit if you are a fan of James Harriott!"

"All the staff here are delightful & extremely hard working. I could see how rushed in the restaurant they were but the staff were pulling all the stops out to accommodate the diners. A lovely spacious room but I thought the wash basin was absurdly small. my kitchen washing up bowl is larger than the sink in the bathroom. "

"Lovely village pub with excellent food and staff. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant which was good value for money. The room was clean and tidy albeit a bit dated. We all slept well though so no complaints. 5 minute walk to a gorgeous waterfall and beautiful village green right outside the pub door."

"Just the most quaint and beautiful setting! Very well kept property and grounds. The pub dining area couldn't be more enjoyable. The staff was friendly and helpful and a young woman named Jess was particularly delightful and helpful. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
