"The Pros: The hotel is big, with wonderful mountain and ocean views. Rooms are big. The staff was mostly very courteous. The Cons: Built in the 1980s, the hotel doesn’t appear to have been renovated since then, giving it a “lost in time” feel. Very outdated facilities for charging electronic devices. Beds not comfortable. Food at the restaurant is expensive and mediocre. The hotel is also A LONG WAY from the ferry terminal (50 minutes) and the airport (35 minutes). Without a car, it would not...

"The cottages are very cute and comfortable. Also the kitchen is well equipped. We made breakfast every morning. The owner of the property is very friendly, professional and helpful. He made a reservation for us at the sushi restaurant Iso no kari ,which was amazing and very authentic. Also the Slow pasta restaurant was very good. They both are 10-15 walk from the property. "

"The best experience I’ve had at a hotel in Japan. I have a halal diet and the staff were able to cater for this in the half-board meals provided. "The place is very quiet. I initially wanted to hike the Jomon Sugi trail, but with limited time and insufficient preparation, it wasn't possible. However, Kentaro was so very helpful in suggesting an alternative trekking itinerary. Hopefully I wasn't too annoying with my endless questions :)"

"We absolutely loved our stay at Hana Mana Cottage. We stayed for two night and wished we had longer. The property was amazing - the cottage is situated in an incredibly well kept garden in beautiful Yakushima. It is a short(ish) walk to the Senpiro Falls. "Had a great stay here. Dinner and breakfast was excellent. The traditional japanese tatami room was nice to experience. Kentaro went out of his way to make us feel at home. We missed a bus that only comes around every 2 hrs and Kentaro appeared out of nowhere in his Van, was like "Hurry get on!" and we chased down that bus. Good times! Thanks Ken!"
