"Great place to stay. Smallish resort. Easy going, plenty of sunbeds without having ro reserve early morning. Food was varied and excellent every night, without being overwhelmed. Nothing else in the immediate vicinity, so ideal for getting away from it all. Lovely isolated beach, on the doorstep. Totally unspoilt. "

"This is a fun property with stunning views and a lot to do. I really enjoyed my time here and wished we had had more time. The buffet breakfast and dinners were great and had a lot of variety. The only downfall is that this resort caters to many nationalities that smoke so there are ash trays near almost every single chair. "Zawadi is the true definition of private luxury! Everything was pristine: staff, property, drinks/food, views, villa, bed comfort, bath products, water pressure, hospitality, etc. The service & staff was incredible- Iddy, Mr M, Innocent, Bernard & Ally were amazing and truly caterered to my husband and I. "Incredible staff nothing was too much to ensure my stay was amazing. The room was fantastic but would have liked not to have ask for the fridge or other listed things that weren’t in the room.! Main issue would be the lack of transport for solo travellers, the opportunity is there but not explored as we would love to book trips but are excluded The location may not be suitable for many but for my stay it was perfect "

"A truly wonderful hotel that stands out for its friendly family feel customer service and its variety and standard of food that has so many choices for vegetarians during the 4 course meal every night. The rooms are tastefully decorated with good aircon and mosquito nets for the bed. The pool and sunbeds are well spaced and quiet and there are paddle boards to use in the sea. "What a luxury to step out of our room onto a soft, white sand beach. Between our room, the water and neighbouring restaurants, we never needed to leave the beach! "What an experience. One of the more quieter and nicer all inclusive resorts on Zanzabar. 1/2 board though, but breakfast and dinner were ample buffets. Lots of local dishes and for such a remote place, much of the food is locally sourced. Fruit at breakfast and desserts made with local ingredients are standouts. "Our room was perfect, we had booked Luxury Garden Suite, which exceeded our expectations, we particularly like the privacy it afforded and actually were pleased to have not booked a Beach Villa. The main swimming pool does need a face lift, there are numerous tiles missing and also the entry to the pool is rather unsafe it would be much better to just have a step rather than the slanted tiles"

" We had an unforgettable experience at Tulia Zanzibar during our honeymoon. The food was absolutely amazing—truly high-end and exceeded our expectations. The service was beyond phenomenal; the staff were some of the best we've ever encountered, with Joseph standing out as an exceptional member of the team. They made us feel incredibly special, surprising us with thoughtful little touches throughout our stay. The property itself is stunning, offering a serene and picturesque environment. We also loved the farm, which provided fresh, garden-grown fruits and vegetables, adding to the overall charm. Highly recommend!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Sands Resort. Each suite is actually a separate bungalow with large, comfortable rooms and wonderful AC. There is an onsite restaurant that serves all day as well as a beach bar that serves snacks/meals during the daytime. It was very relaxing to be able to have all of our meals on the property. The staff were all very friendly and professional. Everything about the staff and property was wonderful. The hotel also offers excursions. The nice thing is that they are private which entailed having a driver and tours that were just for our party. However, I would not recommend doing the "swim with dolphins" excursion because there are too many other boats doing the same thing, and we didn't feel safe going in the water with so many boats moving around quickly to try to bring their passengers close to the dolphins. So, we stayed in the boat. Also, there were no life jackets available, and it was unclear how we would get in/out of the boat without a ladder or rope; the snorkel and other equipment was old, and we didn't get a chance to try the snorkel/mask before going on the water. We also did the Jozani Forest/Butterfly excursion, which was interesting to do to see the monkeys, mangroves, and butterflies, but the price the hotel charged seemed disproportionately higher than the experience merited; please note that I say this without knowing how much the hotel paid the driver to stay with us for several hours and for the forest guide. "

"We were pleasantly suprised with our stay at seyyida! If you’re thinking of booking … don’t hesitate ! We had the most memorable stay! The location is just off the Main Street off the beach - a quick walk from the ferry terminal and the night market. Stone town can feel quite intimidating to navigate upon arrival- we loved and took comfort knowing as long as we could find the ocean we could find our hotel. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They provided a map of stone town and assistance with things to do. The hotel is stunning. The pictures online will never do it justice! The courtyard and pool are works of art. Breakfast every morning was quick fresh and delicious. Please ensure you take the time to view the sunset on the rooftop patio-breathtaking ! The staff allowed us to store our luggage free of charge upon check out and use the pool until our time to leave. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer! Thank you for a lovely safe and memorable stay! "
