"Fantastic property with so many activities and sights in the area. Unique and private, beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed 5 days of rest, scenic tours, casual dining and exploring. We wouldn't have changed anything. The only reason we put 4**** for location is that it is quite remote and off the main highway (though roads are all paved), but it does mean a good 30 minute drive just to get onto the highway to proceed to other areas like South Point, Volcanoe, Hilo, etc. We loved the driving...

"Great stay and enjoyed every aspect of the home itself. Lava flows were cool to explore but took away from the traditional ‘beach experience’. That’s the only concern we had… driving to actual sand beaches. Again, minor detail for our group but a family with younger kids might have had issues. Would stay here again for sure. "

"The location was good for going to the National park. The road conditions getting to the property we okay, careful with low cars. The places itself was very cute. Check in and out was easy. There was a binder with places nearby to visit, eat, and explore. "

"Comfortable accommodations along with immaculate landscaping makes this home away from home one should not pass up. This far exceeded our expectations and is a best value. "This house was a wonderful place to stay. There was no air-conditioning in this place but it was not needed. The wind coming off the sea was sufficient to cool the house and sometimes at night it was cold. The sounds of the waves crashing against the cliffs was the best "white noise" to fall asleep or read your favorite book. The place is stocked with the tools you need to cook with. "Beautiful respite in the rainforest just a few minutes away from Volcanoes National Park. We loved the huge green tree ferns and the flowers surrounding the property, giving it a private fantasy feeling, just like the pictures on the website. We loved the jacuzzi amongst the moss and ferns. We enjoyed the sounds of the many frogs and birds."

"We stayed with our three kids and had a great time! While some of the carpet and finishings are a bit worn, the great spaces made up for it. The hot tub was great after hiking at the national park all day, the deck was huge and amazing for grilling dinner, and the gardens made for a very unique rainforest feel to the whole stay!"

"We stayed in this home for the full month of March 2025. We rated this a 10 based on our top three requirements: next to the ocean, clean, comfortable beds. This home met all three requirements. The ocean with its spectacular crashing waves, stunning views, and swimming turtles was wonderful. The sound of the waves at night along with the comfortable bed made for excellent sleeping. The home was clean and the two new area rugs were a nice update. However, as others have noted, this home would benefit from additional updates. For example, the couch is very uncomfortable. Our inquiries via email were answered promptly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay."

"Lolahi Lodge exceeded my expectations in every way! Great rooms, comfortable bed, really nice towels, lots of little touches. I highly recommend this as a place to stay while visiting Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park. So close to the entrance. And a wonderful place to end up after a long day of hiking!"
